First, no one made up a new date. The 21st date that has been reported was the made up date. Why? Who knows. The real date has always been the 23rd according to the calendar itself.

Second, I'm in no way promoting doom of any kind. Just have a profound respect for a civilization and their calendric systems which are far superior to anything we have ever created. They viewed time in an entire different dimension, and were able to accurately track the movement of all celestial events, bodies, and alignments plus predict with certainty specific events that would directly affect their society;.

I'm not expecting anything major to occur on the 23rd, but I think true history is important, hence this thread. They did expect their God Bolon Yokte K'uh (a collective God) to return on this day though, so it will be interesting to exoect and observe the CORRECT date just in case.
