Quoting: Enquiring Minds Have To Know 1092499 Is it just me, or is there a news blackout there, or is it that Russia and Siberia are immune to getting big earthquakes that happen in many other places of the Earth? Please let me know, and does this seem plausable to you also? Siberia was at one point in its life in a very geologically active area which is why the Siberian Traps are there. Today Siberia is in the center of the Eurasian continent. There is a rift zone starting to form though, and that is where Lake Baikal is so if you do see earthquakes it will be near that lake.
