Stallions are special and always need to be gage every second. Last time I played with one, I forgot that my other horses was roaming frelly outside the fense and was close. I did not get the body language that the Everest (stalion's name) was no longer playing with me, I was running free along side him.. He bite me on the shoulder as I ran pass him and accelerate and cross me, he stept on one of my foot. It's not his fault, it's mine. I had lost perspective and was just in my play time mode. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1380857 Same here in northern and Southern Ireland, there's an unbelievable amount being rescued after people have failed to care for them due to money problems. Unless you have a horse that competes and wins in order to pay for itself then it's worth nothing! |

My old horse is also 33 (cob) he's still as bonkers as a 3 year old.. Only thing age brought him is stubbornness! I can put him in front of any jump and he will go for it, in fact if I don't want him to jump I have to put them all away because he pulls u into them.. He's not been trekked in years for those reasons, survival wouldn't be assured lol |

He was sold to a lady who had no idea how to manage a horse when he was pass the age of jumping (winning). He went from a horse okay but brainwash from competition (Im really not a fan of classic competition) to crazy bc that lady was unable to manage him. He turn violent to the point of having it's own fence inclose for feeding no human contact. The last owner of the stabble where I am, bought him 20 yrs or so ago to save him from meat stuff. At first, he was as he was. The 72 yrs old guy who train it back to descency told me in secret - " he was so aggressive that at one time, I took a 2x4 and smash him right in the face, I had no choice. From there, limit was reintroduce to him and I was able after 2 yrs to put a 6 yrs old on him". Since.. he is Zen. He still have a mind of it's own tho, and a funny one actually. That's another story. |

My fav house at my old job would bite you or head butt you any chance he got so eventually I was the only one who would work with and ride him which ment I learnt how to handle him and he would follow me everywhere.. I loved that with him being so aggressive also came the trust at the end. They are absolutely beautiful animals |

Brad Daylight User ID: 1779676 United States 12/22/2012 06:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Horses are amazing animals "I have felt despair many times in my life, but I do not keep a chair for it." ~Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes Today is a gift, that is why it is called "The Present" “When an opponent declares, “I will not come over to your side,” I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already… What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.” - Adolf Hitler “If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.” -Oscar Wilde Have a nice day, may God bless you :D |
