Could someone please predict something that actually happens.

If the sun goes red giant no one will live.

And on Dec. 24 you will tell us "It's just the beginning - you have to wait some time to notice the changes."

Right - it will take some time to notice the changes - about 3 to 4 billion years.

I am under the assumption that we are held in this orbit by the Sun & Jupiter.

As the Sun Expands, it pushes us out "Pro-Rata" so to say. Vice versa when it retracts to a white dwarf.

In other words, we will have a rough go at it but it will be survivable.
