Quoting: Jumada If the sun goes red giant no one will live. I am under the assumption that we are held in this orbit by the Sun & Jupiter. As the Sun Expands, it pushes us out "Pro-Rata" so to say. Vice versa when it retracts to a white dwarf. In other words, we will have a rough go at it but it will be survivable. This is my 2 cents.
