My friends healthy small children get nightly asthma-like symptomsin the past weeks -living in different states. Please help to find the reasons!

vaccines, nerves, stress, too hot or cold...smoke, mildew, dust, grass, food (eggs, milk peanuts and fish are major culprets and in almost everything we eat) ...my son has it but no attacks after 13, praise god!

I think something like 1 in 3 people in the western world (children / infants included) suffer from various asthma / allergy related troubles to some degree nowadays.

Traffic pollution probably plays a massive part for most sufferers - traffic fumes / industrial. Climate is another major factor, extremities at either end of the spectrum and sudden changes in them.

The whole asthma / allergy thing is all related - hayfever / rhinitis / eczema, so your friend may find if they have asthma, they have troubles with the other stuff to some degree too.

Guess, what I'm saying is though, it's not too unusual, something like 1 in 3 folk have to deal with it - I haven't found any miracle cures in 40 years, but with modern drugs that are available now (that weren't around back when I was a kid), they have a good chance of leading pretty normal lives if they are diagnosed with asthma.
