Re: Dark Night of the Soul
Thread: The World is going through a massive DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL, but it may be ending soon.
The entire world, as a collective conscious, has been going through our own Dark Night of the Soul. St. John of the Cross describes this episode of the human condition in his writings of the same name.

The Dark Night of the Soul is when the soul goes through extreme hardship without the comfort of God or Jesus standing near, guiding the soul, giving the soul - and its constitute human body - faith in the spirit.

I am not of any denomination of religion, but I am very spiritual. So this is not about the various religious sects. This is about spirituality and nothing more.

During our possibly greatest need as a collectively intelligent, spiritual race of beings, we have been cut off from the Source. For those finding their way back, it has been a truly miraculous life now being lived. I know who you are... you are the ones experiencing the impossible. No one believes your experiences, because the only way to believe them is to experience them personally.

You are the torch bearer in the darkness. The spark of light in a massive Dark Night of the Soul. You found your way back to spirit through immense adversary... and your experiences, beyond the realm of the physical are, paradoxically, your grounding to this life's existence and purpose.

The changes are coming, because you are experiencing them happen in your own tabernacle. And the experiences are not relenting, but rather growing greater and more extreme. So take time out and imagine the ones not consciously experiencing the change. Have faith that they will have the strength to spiritually survive the coming end of this Dark Night. As you know, experiencing the impossible can easily shatter the mind... and you have taken steps in the process. They will be denied the progressive steps of learning that you have had.

Have faith. Humility. Personally you understand the difficulties soon to be faced. So rise above the tumult and reach down with a helping hand. The Dark Night of the Soul is ending, and you must be ready.

Re: Dark Night of the Soul
The dark Night is something that lasts for YEARS. The deepest darkest, most depressing time, devoid of almost all but the faintest glimmer of spiritual light.

You walk around like a miserable robot on autopilot just barely clinging to life and some don't, some loose their life or go mad.

And then some glimmer of hope but no you slide back down in deep and again, and again...

But then one day you start coming out and you battle back expect to slide/get dragged back in and yet make some progress and then some more and you are desperately trying to climb out and slowly but with some setbacks you keep overcoming you return to the Light! OMG! in the Light again after all those years! But still worried about falling back in, it's shaky but hold on tight and finally slowly you stabalize and relax and the Light just comes pouring in, pure bliss.

Phew!!!

It's a bad memory now that sometimes I even forget.

I'm not prone to depression or have mood swings or anything like that and usually very steady keel and happy, optomistic.

It sucked bad, I don't think I could live through that again...

You'll know it if/when it ever really happens to you.

Someone said when you come out of it you attain enlightenement like Bhudda or something like that. Well I'd say thats an exxageration/aggrandizement but their is no doubt stronger spiritually than ever and moving forward and upward with a passion.

I am going through the process of the Kundalini now, for enable for me to raise my lower being into existence, I must purify my being first, to gain faith for what I am going to be up against, on my next outing.

I thought I experienced this a few years ago, but it seems I am now...or something. Anyone else experiencing this? Feels like everything is falling apart around me no matter how positive I am. The negativity and hate coming from everywhere is pretty overwhelming. I thought what you put out is what you get back, but it is certainly the opposite my way. I thought that if you have love, and send love out, all will be well. Obviously, there will always be normal everyday shit going on. But this is ridiculous. It feels like torture.

For what it's worth, I can relate for a long time now. Since there is only what God wills and what God allows He must be allowing it. It's hard to understanding why He would allow such things. But we were born into a fallen age. He still uses these things to mold us for what is to come. It can be maddening and make you straight up angry with God. He's not "surprised" by this. use it to harden your mental toughness beyond the physical, beyond the natural world. It may force you to rely on Him alone, and this is gain in the long run. For those who have ever worked with a personal trainer it's easy to hate them as they put you through crap but in the end you come out stronger. Its not Gods will we suffer but just a bi-product of the fall of man ages ago. It is working toward a conclusion, and this is what you may be being shaped for to train how you react to adversity.

Some people fall into Dark Nights when they touch emptiness. You said that you are familiar with up and down cycles. Seeing the up and the down and everything there is equally or with equanimity will keep you out of fear and depression. Release everything, good and bad, as soon as it arises in your awareness. Life may seem dry or plain vanilla, but it ends the suffering.

OP - Two things may be happening.

1. You may be empathic, and your soul is helping with clearing the uptick of negative energies being released especially as the LIGHT has been increasing. Blessings for doing so.

2. In service to the LIGHT, your soul may be serving in processing intense dark forces. I have been where you have been many times, HOPE, rest and surrounding yourself with love and beauty helps until it passes. The hate and negativity are energies - just energies passing through your body and contagiousness to be purified. It may feel so intense as if it will never end, that is just the darkness tormenting your mind.

I have experienced the depth of torment you speak of many times, the feeling of being tormented and tortured. If I may, if you are going through this level of suffering and torment, BLESSED BE, for your soul has offered itself (somewhat to the dismay of the personality)to take on such a sacred task.

Remember LOVE, through it all - REMEMBER LOVE.

Blessed LOVE.

Thank you. Yes, I have always been quite empathic. So, with the things in the world on top of the turmoil in my own life right now, it is just too much.

It feels like a constant panic attack, unable to breathe, eat, sleep, etc.

I'm trying to just love and understand the lesson here, but it doesn't help.

Not really. I feel like I've been depressed for about a year, but I've been handling it fine and staying positive. However, last week after my ex (we were together 5 years and I left 10 months ago) was begging me to fix things and come home, I decided that I should try. 2 days later, he told me he is done for good and has a new girlfriend, lol. This is our first Christmas apart in 5 years. Worst part though is that I have been raising his 5 year old daughter since she was 6 months old. She has no mom. My kids have been her siblings. This will be her first Christmas waking up without me or my kids. She begged me to be there on Christmas and so did he...last week. Now, he isn't letting me because days ago he met someone else.

Everything comes and goes...a breath, a thought, a feeling, a blink of the eyes, sounds. Naturally we cling to none, we release them or let them go. It is the things that we cling to that make us suffer. Resisting is another form of clinging. By our trying to resist, we hold things in our awareness making it more real. Watching the breath come and go is a good thing to focus on. It is a good reminder to not cling.

Panic attacks you don't have to put up with nor should you.

It's OK to go see a doctor and ask for some Xanax, she will ask why and just explain, no problem you'll get it and regardless of what you read it's OK, just a bit here and there as needed.

I don't want you to suffer needlessly nor is it your duty to.

Meditation or Medication?

Only those who are going through the experience know how much energy they can process and how to ground themselves as they 'go through' the Dark Night of the Soul. Many of us posting understand the experience of the Dark Night of the Soul - and for each, we have found what has helped us through and a way to frame it for the mind to endure the experience of torment and sometimes, the experience of feeling tortured.

I am blessed to be with a Spiritual Teacher who to me, is very pure in body, mind and spirit and has been my anchor and voice of HOPE through the experiences.

Some things that have worked for me with panic and difficulty breathing going through the Dark Night...

Lavender oil baths and rubbed over my heart and forehead.

Rosemary baths (rosemary essential oil).

Gaba

Gaia Stress Response

Magnesium Calm

Salt put in your hot baths.

If you have a computer watch a movie that totally distracts your mind as you have a hot bath.

Calms Forte.

Brown rice with sweet potatoes.

Hope this helps you find what your body needs for support.

Not that it makes your Dark Night any less valid...or what I wrote any less valid...

Thanks so much. I actually wear lavender and rosemary on an almost daily basis :). I'm finding distraction so hard but still trying.

Re: Dark Night of the Soul
It will be so helpful to you if you can negotiate your way out of ANY resistence to this dark theme / dark night of the soul / undertow which currently is informing your life . If you don't RESIST this space....but breathe and accept that you are in this moment sensitized to what is pereceived to be negative, thwarting, demoralizing experiences in darkness, light and support removed....you will immediately be more comfortable. Focus/ practice non resistence. Mediate if you can. Embrace where you are. If you can do this....you will have less psychic connection to the experience and you may find that your body/soul/emotional body/psyche begind to process that which cannot really be named, faster. Our perceptions determine our experience. Until you can perceive the renewal of contrast : eg: the good as well as the bad ...just focus on being as comfortable as possible with no expectation of anything...even relief. What we resist is energized. If you embrace that this is your experience - it may be transmuted faster. If this space continues for a week + unabated? You should check in with an Md or someone who can evaluate your well being objectively.
May you be blessed by the loving unseen as you wind your way thru this.

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. How do I go about doing that? I'm just not sure. I try just going about my day, sending love everywhere I go in hopes that that is what will come to me.

Re: Dark Night of the Soul

"Not really. Now, he isn't letting me because days ago he met someone else."

It is a rough ride and I know all too well as I was in the exact same boat, raising two boys for 5 years that were not mine. The holidays are rough, but I just tell myself that I was in their life at that time for a reason and instilled the proper values and mind set in their heart.

I really feel for you and was compelled to write this. I always focus, think or pray for those who are alone. It is nothing I wish on anyone and proves to me yet again what the human spirit is capable of. We are stronger and more resilient than we can imagine.

Many blessings and positive thoughts are sent to you. Just know those children are strong and will be ok.

Re: Dark Night of the Soul
I don't have any hate in me, really. It is just sadness. I'm just trying to love. Even after everything going on, I feel unconditional love, but it is with unbearable sadness.

Cultivate the opposite: joy and peace. Even simply saying the words, forcing a smile on your face, laughing a bit, will help throughout the day. Just another suggestion.

peace

...I should clarify: a HUGE smile. Even if it's fake, it still will work.

Probably best to do if you get some alone time...kind of creepy otherwise.

Re: Dark Night of the Soul
Funny I should see this thread. Just received this book for Christmas. I think so many people seem to be faced with challenges at the moment, I think it was michael tsarion who said that as more spiritual light is shining down it exposes the dirt on us. If all the speculation about earth changes are accurate, these hard ships may well be opportunities to finish up or schoolwork so we can graduate, so to speak.
