I don't give a shit what you do with your own life, whether you make it a success or a failure, that is an outcome of the choices you make, but please take responsibility for yourself and don't make ME pay for YOUR choices and we're all good. It's a flower, not something to be feared. Thread: One "Member" That Everyone Should Know... Thread: Ben Swann leaving Fox 19, where should he go? [Poll] - Moo! |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 30675591 12/23/2012 01:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok here is my idea... Quoting: unarmedcivilian 23231420 Place gps units on all firearms. Make it illegal for any person possessing an un-traceable firearm or firearm that is unregistered to them a Class A felony; Leading to execution "with no exceptions"... Basically I don't care if anyone owns 1 gun or 100 guns... But I don't think just anyone should have a gun... Now, if guns were gps active, we would be able to track their whereabouts in real time. Leading to less firearm related deaths, fatalities, and both small and large crimes. If police knew where all firearms were people would be easier approachable as police wouldn't have to use deadly force as often due to them having first hand knowledge on weather a suspect is carrying at the time. Guns are dangerous. I will agree with that; But Guns are also good self defense systems... The problem isn't so much as weather people should or shouldn't have the right to bear arms. The problem is stolen weapons, and untraceable firearms killing people everyday... Would you except a stolen firearm if you knew the penalty for possessing it was "life in prison with no parole". And would you accept a stolen gun with a gps unit on it? And would you accept a non gps traceable weapon (again) knowing prior to accepting it; That being caught with its possession is an automatic execution... (I doubt many people would). This does not imply that anyone's rights are taken away from them. (own a fucking 1000 guns for all I care).. What this revision of firearm laws would do is make both the owners, and the potential thief's more responsible and less likely to commit to gun related crimes, and mishandling... Im not worried about the gun owners. I am worried about gun crimes and that people that have them in their possession are not being monitored leading to a multiliplude of problems in our society. You're worrying about the wrong people. Worry about those who are arming to the teeth against you, and stealing all your rights, along with your children's future. That is all. |

Quoting: unarmedcivilian 23231420 The problem with this is that those who do things that are already illegal don't (and will continue not to) care whether what they do is legal or not, so why would they care if their guns aren't legally GPS'd? Short answer: they wouldn't. Legislative remedies are ineffective crime deterrents because, as stated above, those who will commit crimes are going to commit them regardless of what the law says. Ever hear of Prohibition? Yeah, that was a really good, effective law wasn't it? |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 27381766 12/23/2012 01:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Their is no such thing as gun legislation in the united states. The Constitution provides for the guarantee of our rights, one of which is to bear arms. You can give up your right voluntarily by agreeing with local statutes, if you wish. Any attempt to remove the right to bear arms may be considered treason and if done by a government employee, would be the attempt to abrogate Constitutional rights under the color of office. A very serious crime. |
