What's she's saying here is totally plausible, may play into a larger push for overall gun control, but may also involve a specific and as-yet-unheard-of plot involving new weaponry they may not want in the hands of the public. She may be peering into a part of the story nobody has figured out yet. It's just a nugget of info to take in.

Correct. Sure, they have technology beyond our wildest dreams we aren't aware of, but they may want to introduce some new weapons for "military only" use and they want laws in place to ensure WE don't get them.

Because right now, we CAN get military-grade weapons, which I imagine is a sore spot with them.

I really think the idea that our current weapons are akin to "bows and arrows" is probably accurate, compared to what they will have. It may be why they aren't too worried about us buying up all these guns.

I don't really know why they haven't completely banned guns yet. There's no reason why they couldn't. If they wanted to, they easily could have years ago. Why? I'm still trying to figure that out.
