Murder is illegal, and yet, no law has stopped murder from being committed by the violent criminal. IN fact, laws have not deterred the insane from stealing away children, committing heinous acts upon them and then murdering them in any number of horrendous ways. And, most of those ways do not include a gun. No law stopped Timothy McVeigh from building a bomb and killing scores of people including some 20+ children. The only law that truly matters exists and yet assholes find ways to kill innocents. Criminals find ways to illegally obtain guns and other weapons. But, it is the inalienable right of the innocent to obtain weapons in order to protect themselves, their loved ones and others that is under fire. If they cannot stop murder from taking place in a society where some are armed, how will they ever stop murder in a society where only the criminals have arms? |
