Assault rifles are easier to aim then a pistol. Assault rifles generally give the operator the best possible chance at living through a fire-fight, while killing/stopping the enemy.

It doesn't matter what you are shooting at, the tyranny of the government or anyone else could come in any form.

It is possible to shoot a pilot in an airplane with a rifle, depends on how many people are shooting and at what altitude.

If you have many thousands of armed civilians it wont matter if they have full-auto or bolt action or whatever.

You know nothing about guerilla war, or you would know that an AC-130 is about as useful as tits on a boar hog against a dispersed enemy among friendlies. The military also has nukes, do you really think they are going to drop an atomic bomb on New Orleans in case of an insurrection? They won't because they do not want to destroy infrastructure they need. That means you have to go in and winkle out your enemy face to face. That is when an AR-15 is handy, although i prefer an L1A1.

Well, I do not own and assault rifles, but my AR-15 or AR-10 will do a helluva job of putting armor piercing rounds on target, if I do my part.

So If I can down 1 government thug before I go down then then the playing field is level. The odds only get better from there.

While I may not last long against a trained military CQC team, I think I will do pretty good against the postal employees, or the Social Security administration employees with their new Glocks and M16s and their 10 bazillion rounds of recently purchased ammo.

By the way, after the sit begins, I plan on having a genuine Gubment issued Assault Rifle, and cases and cases of their ammo.

The ideas of rights are useless unless the people are actively engaged in exercising their rights. Why do you reduce this concept to particular events or circumstances? What protects us against tyranny is not that the people can defend themselves with weapons, it is the idea that they can organize, outside of governmental regulation and control, and use whatever means are necessary in that defense. If the people reduce all these ideas into fragments without seeing the whole picture then the concept of "rights" are inapplicable anyway.
