Craigslist is down

Across the world early advertisers are reporting that Craigslist is down.

Since 12 a.m. PST on December 23, 2012, users have reported that they cannot connect to Craigslist from all across the United States and as far away as Afghanistan. Mexico, and London according to bloggers at the Is It Down Right Now site.

Whatever the problem is the response times before people just quit trying are 12296.14 ms. The usual response time is between 180 and 220 ms using Ping. Attempts to access Craigslist with Safari, Explorer, Chrome, and Android failed at 5 a.m.CST. Twitter also notes the site is down but no one knows why.

No announcement was made prior to the shut down and no comments have been forthcoming as of yet as to the cause of Craigslist shut down from Craigslist.

Just what retailers needed for the last Sunday of the holiday season. A shut down of a major sales point just two days before Christmas could cost some sellers a fortune.
