Assault Weapons Folks: Consider This...

I am not advocating for gun control. In fact, I am dead set against it. However, I want you to consider something. Lets consider the AR 15 vs. a Mosin Nagant model 1891/59.

Both have a roughly five hundred meter range. However, with a small, affordable scope the MN 59 becomes a fine scout rifle and becomes effective to 800 meters. While the AR 15 loses a lot of punch beyond 600 meters.

"Well, Mr. Know-It-All what about CQB?"

Okay. Fine. I give you the Remington 870 or a side arm. The gun control nuts aren't looking at six shooters and .357 one shot ends the fight! Period.

"But...but...I only have six rounds---maybe eight."

True. That said, I can kill you just as dead with one JHP .357 as you can with three 9MM. And don't even compare a .223 to a 12GA buckshot or slug.

Look, I am all for gun rights. I think if you want an AR15 and you aren't a headcase or felon, it's your right.

That said, if we were actually fighting to defend against tyranny, I'd rather be able to nail someone at 800 meters and stay hidden than have to run and gun at 300 meters with my AR15. (I do not advocate armed revolution! It is bullshit to believe we are to that point!)

Furthermore, if we are in a state of emergency and I have to walk from point A to point B. Local cops and National Guard are far less likely to give me shit if I'm hauling a shotgun or a bolt action weapon.

Gun control is bullshit, but your 'Rebel Alliance' fuck fantasies are just as much bullshit. Pistols. Everyone deserves that right if they are sane citizens.

Just my opinion. I'm sure some 'hero' will tell me why I'm wrong and that "I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about" because "they charged up Hill 9 at Buck Valley with DevGru". And I'm sure some bleeding heart will tell me all guns are evil.

Yeah, well, this debate is just gettin' old.
