They will tell this to sheeple:
The Earth's climate system constantly adjusts in a way that tends toward maintaining a balance between the energy that reaches the Earth from the sun and the energy that goes from Earth back out to space. [link to earthobservatory.nasa.gov]

oh OK, let's see now what Kim Kardashian wore tonight

they will tell also this, for those who see the wider picture (without Kim to hide the Sun):

When most people look up they see clouds.

and even wider:

NASA document from 1966 indicates that weather modification efforts have been underway since the 1940s. “There is … great motivation to develop effective countermeasures against the destructive measures of weather,” the paper observes.
According to the report, in 1964 the National Science Foundation formed a Special Commission on Weather Modification. Thereafter, weather weapons in the form of cloud seeding were used to flood North Vietnamese supply lines during the Vietnam War.

Veteran weather modification expert Ben Livingston is a former Navy Physicist who briefed President Lyndon B. Johnson on the effectiveness of weather control back in the 1960′s during the Vietnam era, when he was involved in cloud seeding programs that worked to slow down the advance of Vietnamese and Korean troops.
Livingston asserts that asserts that hurricane control was a national priority of the government more than 40 years ago and that the technology was fully operational to control the weather at the time.

Cold air mass from China forecast to bring temperatures down: CWB

CNA
January 14, 2013, 12:01 am TWN

TAIPEI--A southward-bound cold air mass from China could bring temperatures down in Taiwan, the Central Weather Bureau said yesterday.

Temperatures were predicted to have dropped to possibly between 13 and 14 degrees Celsius in Northern Taiwan and between 15 and 16 degrees in other areas by late Sunday, and areas north of Central Taiwan could see a low of 11 degrees on Monday night, the bureau forecasted.

The approach of this dry, cold air mass is also expected to ease the rain, which began in Taiwan early on Sunday due to the passing of a front, the bureau said.

Temperatures are expected to return to a relatively warmer level from Jan. 15 as the cold air mass weakens, but the approach of another wave of a strong cold air mass from China on Jan. 16 is likely to bring the mercury down again from Jan. 16-19, it said.

The bureau said that temperatures could reach 10 degrees on Jan. 17 and 18 in Northern Taiwan, when the continental cold air mass is expected to be at its strongest. [link to www.wunderground.com]

Re: 2013 Polar Vortex Collapsing; Complete Disintegration Possible!!! US, North Europe, Midle East Hit!!!
Sunday, January 13, 2013Severe Cold Will Start Late January, Intensify February
By Andrew at 11:10 AM
I expect the worst of this winter's cold to start up in Late January as more moderate cold, and really get going into February.

I want to first analyze the observed snow cover anomalies over the North Hemisphere in the month of October 2012. There has been work done which suggests a negative correlation (Factor A goes up, Factor B goes down) between October snow cover anomalies and the Arctic Oscillation (AO) in the following winter. So, in times of below normal October snow cover, the corresponding part of winter would then be expected to have warmer temperatures across the US. Likewise, above normal snow cover would hint at a negative AO and thus cooler temperatures.

If we take a look back at observed temperatures for the month of December 2012, we find 'Above Normal' to 'Much Above Normal' temperature anomalies in much of the central and east US. This corresponds very well with below normal snow anomalies in the first half of October. This proves that this winter appears to be lead by this Siberian connection, meaning it is a valid hypothesis to say you could use this correlation to forecast the rest of winter. If we jump ahead to today, we find that the first part of January has been fairly warm, once again matching up with Siberia's below normal snowfall near the halfway mark of October.

However, once the cooldown at the end of January hits, we have then reached the equivalent of just after the halfway point of October, where snow cover was slightly above normal, and thus cooler temperatures would be predicted for the US. Moving on towards the end of October, Siberia encountered anomalously high snow cover, meaning that February could very well lead to well below normal temperatures not experienced in years. This happens to coincide with the potential time period that the polar vortex may come crashing down, something we will discuss later on.

Another piece to the puzzle involves something called the Madden-Julian Oscillation, or MJO. The MJO involves the certain location of anomalous precipitation across the Pacific Ocean. The above forecast graph is cut into eight sections, and each section defines a different placement of this precipitation. Phase 1 is the furthest west, with the highest precip centered in the Indian Ocean, while Phases 7-8 are the furthest west, putting the precip in the far east Pacific or even into the Caribbean. Right now, we are in Phase 6, which is known as one of the phases that causes warmth to overrun the nation during the winter months. In order to get back to a pro-cold solution, we want the MJO to cycle around to Phases 7-2. While that does look to happen, the strength of the MJO appears to be dissipating with time, shown as the forecast models' (colorful lines) tendency to go towards the middle circle, where the MJO is too weak to have any profound affect on the weather. If we saw the MJO sustain its strength and head towards Phases 8-1, we would be in a very good place as far as cold weather potential goes. If we did happen to reach Phases 8-1, it would likely be during the first week or two of February, fitting in nicely with the aforementioned Siberia connection.

Another big thing to watch for temperatures is the sun. Shown above is a graph of observed sunspot numbers in the 30-day sunspot cycle. During the 30 day sunspot cycle, the number of sunspots starts out low, spikes mid-cycle, and drops back down for the end. This process takes about 30 days, hence the 30 day sunspot cycle title. During the height of the 30 day sunspot cycle, temperatures tend to warm as well, due to the activeness of the sun is then directing more heat and energy out to space, including Earth. During the minimum of the 30 day sunspot cycle, temperatures tend to be on the cool side. If the current cycle started around December 24th, the minimum should be coming around January 24th or within a few days of that date, which happens to coincide with the potential collapse of the polar vortex into the US, which I will dive into more below.

0z ECMWF Hour 216 500mb height anomaly forecast
Both the GFS and ECMWF models - two very respected and accurate forecast models - are showing the polar vortex collapsing into the United States. For those unfamiliar with the term polar vortex, it refers to the low pressure that is stationed over the Arctic, and its varying strength drives the amount of cold air let down to lower latitudes. When it shifts south, frigid air flows with it, and if it comes into the US, you can expect brutally cold air. This collapse is expected to happen around the 22nd - 25th of January. If you look closely at the two models and what timeframe they're forecasted for, you will see significant differences in timing exist between the two models. As small as a 32 hour difference between the two models may be, it is more than enough time for something to happen to possibly prevent this whole thing from occurring. That's why we need the models to match up in order to even see the potential of this happening.

A MAJOR SUDDEN STRATOSPHERIC WARMING EVENT IS UNDERWAY
AND NEARING COMPLETION. SUDDEN STRATOSPHERIC WARMING EVENTS ARE
FAVORED TO OCCUR DURING AN EASTERLY PHASE OF THE QUASI-BIENNIAL
OSCILLATION /QBO/...WHICH IS THE PHASE THE STRATOSPHERE IS IN THIS
WINTER. THE SUDDEN STRATOSPHERIC WARMING CAUSES A DRAMATIC
WEAKENING...AND SOMETIMES ENTIRE BREAKDOWN OF THE STRATOSPHERIC
POLAR VORTEX...AND A GREAT WEAKENING OR EVEN REVERSAL OF THE
STRATOSPHERIC POLAR NIGHT JET. THE GFS FORECASTS THIS TO OCCUR OVER
THE NEXT WEEK AT THE 2MB LEVEL.

THE RESULT OF ALL OF THIS IS THE GENERATION OF STRONG HIGH LATITUDE
BLOCKING AS THE DRAMATIC CHANGES IN THE STRATOSPHERE FEED DOWN INTO
THE TROPOSPHERE. HIGH LATITUDE BLOCKING FORCES THE COLDEST AIR SOUTH
OUT OF THE HIGH ARCTIC AND TOWARDS THE MID LATITUDES...AND ALSO
FAVORS LASTING STRONGLY NEGATIVE EPISODES OF ARCTIC OSCILLATION /AO/
AND NORTH ATLANTIC OSCILLATION /NAO/. THIS TYPICALLY BEGINS TO TAKE
PLACE 10-15 DAYS AFTER THE SUDDEN STRATOSPHERIC WARMING EVENT. HOW
LONG IT LASTS CAN VARY...BUT TYPICALLY THE COLD PATTERN LASTS FOR AT
LEAST A FEW WEEKS...AND OCCASIONALLY CAN PERSIST THROUGH THE REST OF
WINTER.

AS ALL OF THIS IS OCCURRING...THE MJO IS FORECAST BY THE GEFS
ENSEMBLES TO WEAKEN AND FADE AWAY IN ABOUT 10 DAYS. THE PACIFIC
NORTH AMERICAN PATTERN /PNA/ IS FORECAST TO REMAIN NEGATIVE OVER THE
NEXT 10 DAYS...WHICH WILL DIRECT THE FIRST BATCHES OF COLD INTO THE
WESTERN AND EVENTUALLY CENTRAL UNITED STATES. GEFS ENSEMBLE MEMBERS
SUPPORT A TREND TOWARDS A NEUTRAL OR POSITIVE PNA BY THE MIDDLE OF
THE MONTH...WHICH SHOULD ALLOW THE GROWING COLD TO SPREAD EASTWARD.

WHAT ALL OF THIS TECHNICAL JARGON MEANS IS THAT THERE IS MODERATE TO
HIGH CONFIDENCE IN A PATTERN CHANGE TOWARDS MUCH COLDER WEATHER FOR
THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN UNITED STATES STARTING AROUND THE MIDDLE OF
JANUARY...WITH COLD LIKELY PEAKING IN LATE JANUARY INTO EARLY
FEBRUARY. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR THE COLDEST AIR WE HAVE SEEN IN
AT LEAST SEVERAL YEARS DURING THIS PERIOD. WHAT SNOW POTENTIAL THIS
WILL BRING IS MUCH MORE UNCERTAIN DUE TO UNKNOWN DETAILS WITH
SYNOPTIC STORM TRACK AND LAKE EFFECT POTENTIAL.

Re: 2013 Polar Vortex Collapsing; Complete Disintegration Possible!!! US, North Europe, Midle East Hit!!!
Heavy snow has fallen across parts of the UK after warnings from forecasters that large swathes of England would see up to 4in (10cm) fall on Monday.

Met Office amber warnings to "be prepared" for snow remain in place in north-east and east England, Yorkshire and Humber, and the East Midlands.

The snow has caused disruption to the railways, with several cancellations on routes between London and East Anglia.

Parts of Scotland are also seeing heavy snowfall, with Aberdeenshire worst hit.

The fresh snowfall marks the start of what forecasters are predicting will be a bitterly cold week.

Eddy Carroll, chief forecaster for the Met Office, warned further snow on Monday and into Tuesday will lead to disruption in eastern parts of the UK.

Snow ploughs and gritters were needed to keep the runway at Stansted airport in Essex clear of snow
He added: "With some very low temperatures over the next few nights we also expect ice in many places and people should be prepared for travel problems."

Temperatures are expected to drop to around -10C across rural Scotland on Monday night, and possibly as low as -5C across other parts of northern and eastern England.

Northern and eastern regions of England are expected to have the highest snow accumulations on Monday.

There could be as much as 4in (10cm) in some parts of eastern England, with more on higher ground, while central parts of the country will see up to 2in (5cm). Parts of Wales and Scotland will also see up to 2in.

South-east England - mostly to the north and east of London - is also expected to see some snow this evening, with the far south-west of England and Northern Ireland being the only regions untouched by the severe cold.
