The short version.... sun, magnetics, shift

[link to www.youtube.com]

The long version explaining the earths pole shift. The poles have flipped many, many times. On average about every 200,000 years. The last time they flipped was 780,000 years ago.

But not to fear there are signs before it happens, like a major magnetic drift and magnetic anomalies. For example areas of the southern hemisphere that show as norther magnetics. Like what has been happening in the south Atlantic for the last 100 years.

Not scientific but nice layman video for what our magnetic north has been up to and where its going. Now more than 40 Miles a year.

This is the scariest thing I have heard about. Cold kills very easily. Please keep warm everyone.

Get prepared bro!

What do you gotta do?!

If you are like myself... money is possibly low...

but there are always preps you can make.

Here are some tips to help you stay warm!
These are also good tips for those without heat... or if you dont have back up heat during a power outage

*Use cheap clear shower curtains over the windows that receive sun light. This will keep the cold air out, and the warmth from the sun will heat your house without cold air coming in. You could also cover your windows with clear plastic sheets and make it airtight.[/i
]

*Close off any unused rooms

*Use the smallest room in your home as the living quarters

*Put down a rug or carpet. Rugs and carpets help prevent heat loss through the floor. They are generally warmer to the touch than wood or stone, and so offer a warmer surface to walk on.

*Light some candles. A few cheap candles can add warmth to the room... put them in a safe spot and never go to sleep with them burning.

*Cook and/or bake it will make the room warmer

Sleep with lots of cover

*Dress in many layers!

*Check on your neighbors especially the elderly

You need to stock up on warm clothes Luis !

I've spent a better part of my savings on special winter gear and I don't regret it for a second !

If you want I can recommend the best stuff for you to buy like Merino wool clothing, Down jackets, etc !

this post should have it´s own pinned thread, ty for spreading that info, this is all correct just keep an eye for lack of oxigen in some situations, keep the one small room heated and (if you have a lit fireplace) allow the air to circulate from hour to hour (open the door of another closed/unused room for 2 min and try to make a lil air current, but no more than 2min, do it sparingly, ESPECIALLY THE ELDERS)

"NACREOUS CLOUDS: Arctic sky watchers should be alert for bright splashes of color this weekend: The nacreous clouds are back.

"Atmospheric optics expert Les Cowley comments: "Of all Earth's clouds, nacreous clouds are the most spectacular, and a very rare treat for skywatchers. For up to an hour after sunset or before dawn they glow like eerie electric discharges or gas jets in the darkening sky, their filmy shapes slowly curling and uncurling with intense shifting colors. They are composed of tiny ice crystals more than twice as high as ordinary clouds, 9-16 miles up, in the stratosphere and form at temperatures of minus 85 Celsius and below. The crystals are all of similar size and they diffract the high altitude sunlight to make the colours."

[link to spaceweather.com]

We could reasonably assume that if a cold period was coming, there would be an increase in nacreous clouds.
Would these ice crystals, in the stratosphere, produce more cold down at our level?
What made the temperature in the stratosphere get to minus 85c?

Forecast in Iceland shows that we might break the historical RECORD for lowest temperature ever recorded, next 27th December, near Myvatn

[link to www.mbl.is]

The computer models forecast a low temperature between -34ºC to -45ºC, still uncertain and difficult to predict exactly. But the absolute Icelandic record stands at -38ºC from 1918.
temperature in Reykjavik for 1938 is still falling? Recently it dropped by almost 1.8°C

You're all overlooking the fact that
1) Fuck-US-Shima is still burning at 3MM plus degrees and has done considerable damage to the ozone over this long period of time (not to mention nuclear shit all over this planet). Burning the ozone then allows certain gases to advance to the next layer of the atmosphere which produces dichoric acid and heats the atmosphere ala methane...where does the methane come from?
2) Gulf where they initiated that little experiment. It's proven that the air from the Gulf flows right up into the Arctic. That air is full of massive amounts of methane that you can bet is not capped.

So there's your explanation of the "accidental" shit that has been carefully orchestrated...all by these bastards

Inner Mongolia China, latest region of planet caught in sub-zero super-freeze
December 30, 2012 – CHINA – A freezing blizzard pummeled the Xilin Gol area of China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Saturday morning, severely affecting road traffic. On the No. 308 provincial highway, vehicles found themselves stuck in deep snow as severe blizzards lowered visibility from 200 meters to less than ten meters in just ten minutes.

you know, in spring of 2011 as I was headed up to our little place in Canada, I had a premonition of an exteme cold weather event

it wasn't from anything around me, on the contrary, that had been an unusually mild winter spring and summer

Now, over the past summer I have questioned myself as temps soared over 100 , but I have learned in my life to trust these moments of insight I get, and that one was so clear that I have come to haunt "iceagenow.info" looking for confirmation

some say the world will end by fire, some say by ice...and I say perhaps it will be both, but of the two, I'll take fire for now.

There is an excellent video by Robert Felix where he explains in a lecture how it begins...and it begins with rain and moisture which never seems to stop

Look for Robert Felix: global warming, global cooling, the one with the bullet points from a conference room lecture...I can't post it from an ipad, although I can post this one, which will do for now:

and of course there's Piers Corbyn

I agree with you , we supposed to be on solar maximum from Mid 2012 towards the end of 2013. At the moment the sun is however very quiet. The cycle was anticipated to be very weak when compared with the previous solar cycle, however the reality was even worse than the anticiped data:

[link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

As a side note, some specialists think we already passed the maximum and also the next maximum might be missed all together. If this is the case, a mini-iceage would not be a surprise..

Re: 2013 Polar Vortex Collapsing; Complete Disintegration Possible!!! US, North Europe, Midle East Hit!!!
So, two trends really evident. The first is for the obvious secondary warming episode from Hudson Bay right across towards Siberia. Given that we have a preceding warming event that gives the stratospheric PV a significant booting right through to the lower stratosphere, and given the lack of net tropospheric zonal winds at present, there is very little to prevent a downwelling trend from this secondary warming.

The second trend, and equally applicable to the lack of preventative forcing, is for the remaining shreds of cold in the mid stratosphere to set up around the Aleutians. Should this pattern downwell, it may well set up an Aleutian low - and given the forecast, should this occur, with plenty of HLB setting up and a lack of PV preventing much shift in global tropospheric patterns, we could be seeing some extended Wave 1 activity towards the end of Jan again, helping to prevent any reformation of the vortex.

You could also speculate that given the extensive nature of the secondary warming, once any remnants of the PV have been displaced south from Scandinavia, you could well see heights ridging from Greenland across towards Scandinavia. It doesn't take much of a shift east from there to set up a scandi high - which could then induce further Wave 2 activity further down the line.

Of course we have to remember this is all a forecast at present, but given the recent consistency of the GFS all the way out into FI with the first warming episode, this bodes well for the remainder of our winter, and possibly even slightly beyond
