Message Subject Comparing United States to the Northern and Southern kingdoms of Israel in Isaiah and Jeremiah

This is the story of Israel splitting after the reign of Solomon. The son of Solomon raised taxes so high the kingdom split into 2 kingdoms. The northern kingdom being called Israel and the southern kingdom being called Judah and keeping the capital Jerusalem.

If we know the tradition of Messiah ben Joseph and Messiah ben David, we know Messiah ben Joseph is the suffering servant and Messiah ben David is the conquering King.

The Christians see it at one level as Jesus' first appearance as suffering servant(messiah ben Joseph) and 2nd appearance as Messiah ben David(conquering King)

The Jews see it as what the Christians call the 2 witnesses of revelation. Messiah ben Joseph comes before the Messiah ben David. Messiah ben Joseph dies in battle and Messiah ben David raises him from the dead and the 2 begin their ministry.

If we can see there are 2 levels of Messiah ben Joseph and Messiah ben David we can see a possibilty of 2 levels of the northern kingdom and southern kingdom of Israel and Judah

This is the possibility I will try to show:

The first example is the Jesus type being both messiah ben Joseph and messiah ben David at the large scale

1. Israel is Judah and benajmin (Southern kingdom)
2. United States is the lost 10 tribes (Northern kingdom)

The second example is the 2 witnesses being messiah ben Joseph and Messiah ben David at a smaller scale

1. United states split down the middle on the madrid fault line after earthquake. The left side is lost 10 tribes and the right side is Judah and benjamin with the capital being on the side of Judah and benjamin. Instead of a northern and southern kingdom it would be an eastern and western kingdom.

Israel was divided in the time of the prophets because of taxes being raises so high. Will the same thing be the reason for the United States?

When the time for inauguration came in Israels time something prevented the normal place of the Inauguration to change location. We in the united states should watch for this same pattern.

Israel was a family. The tribes of Israel were made up of the descendants of 12 brothers. They all enjoyed the same ancestry and the same heritage. There was among them a bond of blood as well as a bond of faith. But these bonds were broken soon after the death of Solomon.

Then Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king. (1 Kings 12:1).

Rehoboam was the son of Solomon and heir to the throne of Israel. The fact that the planned coronation of the king was to take place at Shechem is significant. Jerusalem was the capital city of Israel. It was here that Solomon had been anointed and installed as king of Israel (1 Kings 1:38-39). And yet, Rehoboam found in necessary to travel to Shechem for the inaugural ceremony.

The name "Shechem" describes "the space between the shoulder blades." The town lay exactly between the two mountains of Gerazim and Ebal. It was here that Israel had come in the days of Joshua where half of the people stood on Mount Gerazim and half of the people stood on Mount Ebal to read the Law of the Covenant. Half of the people had read the blessings of the covenant and half of the people had read the cursings of the covenant and the people had pledged themselves to follow the Lord.
