Church Of Scientology Is Being Investigated By Homeland Security Over Human Trafficking Allegations

One of my best friends was brought to the states via the church back in the 70's via the sea org. Originally from Australia, but schooled in England.

A few years ago he confided in me that he was not legally here, and I had him go to the INS and get himself legal. He was scared to do so because of how he was brought to the states as a child to work for the church.

He was deemed a suppressive person about 27yrs ago because he decided to leave the church and tried to bring along his current girlfriend who in the end didn't go with him and caused him to be excommunicated by his family.

He committed suicide this past November, he had not spoken to any of his family in 27yrs even though he had tried numerous times.

His brother that he had not had any communication with in over 27yrs and one of his sons that he had never met showed up at my house. Both of them were nice enough people, but his brother was quite creepy and the impression I got was that he was just there to go through his belongings and perhaps clean up any loose ends.

His brother insisted it was my friends decision and he could have communicated at any time if he would only admit to doing wrong. Talked a lot about how they grew up together... But he obviously didn't know his brother at all!

The whole situation was extremely weird, he didn't talk much about his family or the church. I knew him for almost 20yrs and during most of that time he wouldn't talk about any of these things, but the last month of his life he opened up to me quite a bit. I was hoping this would finally relieve him of the demons that were eating him up. But end the end they were obviously too much for him to take...
