Take a bath before bed. Chamomile tea helps a lot of people. Try listening to meditation CDs before bed; they relax and you'll sleep like a baby. Centerpointe is great! If the above fails, try: Melatonin, up to 3 mg Benadryl Thanks! Some ideas to try. I go to bed at 9 p.m. and get up at 4:30 a.m. This has caused problems for me because my family wants to stay up later and they make noise. The various pets also keep me up. I don't have so much trouble falling asleep but if something wakes me during the night, I'm up for the duration. Chamomile tea has been a God send for me - but it has to have honey in it. I also have to have a dark and quiet room away from my pets. I know that may sound extreme but I can't function adequately when I'm tired during the day. |

DMTHC User ID: 30311886 Australia 12/23/2012 10:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Melatonin is found in many areas of many animals. It is involved in the skin coloration of amphibians, and in the thermal or motor regulation in some higher animals. Its major regulatory role is in response to light and, in man, is the major hormone produced by the pineal gland. This popular gland in the brain (incidentally the only unpaired site in the brain) has long been the darling of the new-age set as it is the so-called third eye. Its primary hormone, melatonin, has been the subject of many studies related to brain function. It has effects on other brain bodies that are themselves involved in hormone secretion. It has been implicated in behavioral and emotional changes in man, including anxiety, seasonal depression, and delayed sleep-phase syndrome (DSPS, with a delay in getting to sleep, and delay in coming awake). Its function is strongly affected by exposure to light, and it has been referred to as the body's hormone of darkness. And there is no question but that the biochemistry of the brain allows it to know what time of day it is. Studies with the pineal in the rat have shown that the enzymatic activity needed to run the acetylation reaction (using N-acetyltransferase, which produces melatonin from its original serotonin precursor) is 45 times more active at 10:00 PM than it is at 10:00 AM. Let me let you in on a little secrete of mine, as far as god goes I don't believe in your kind- I think we all god just gotter look deeper inside, that's probably what your bible means by you seek and you find. |

If it's just a temporary bout of insomnia then take symptomatic relief.. If it's long-term you need to figure out the root cause: Persistent stress Adrenal fatigue Thyroid imbalances ...are amongst the most over-looked and common root causes of insomnia. |

Thanks Couple pulls off the weed pipe, sleep like a baby. It also keeps you from tossing and turning. Yes, but pray you get to sleep before the paranoia sets in. Paranoia was never a problem for me. While it was my favorite thing to do before bed, then read a book or watch something on tv for a bit, it can mess with your REM cycle and rest will not be as deep. Insomnia sucks, but stressing about it doesn't help. Learn to meditate. Medications are temporary. A nice orgasm doesn't hurt either. Have fun! |
