Yes exactly, kids learn from their parents. It's no shock that as her kid was not accepting their faults ,neither was the mom. It's a shame.

America punishes parents for disappointing their children.

I'm not talking about beating kids,I'm talking about any punitive recourse to what a child(teenager)has done.

Yeah. I've noticed that kids like phones alot but there is a simple solution. Don't ever let them hold a cell phone. You don't know how the phone will effect them, be that cancer, brain tumors, it could even affect brain chemistry. Why do you even have an iphone in the first place? Don't tell me your one of those that goes out and buys the newest iphone waiting in line for days because it has an updated/improved camera. They obviously leave out shit on purpose so they can add it in on an "updated" model and it works amazingly well on the sheep.

Reserve judgement. The kid was probably autistic. Autistic children have tantrums that are very difficult to control. It's a shame when they break things. My little cousin is autistic and the other day she threw a tantrum for no reason and broke our thousand dollar TV. -__- It sucks but it's one of those situations where you just have to suck it up and deal with it. The woman should be responsible for replacing anything her kid broke, though. After all, we tried to tell her vaccines were not good for her child.

Why all the hate on autistic kids? There are plenty of unruly brats running around whose lazy parents haven't taken the time to correct their kids behavior and train them to know how to behave in a store. I work with autistic kids and have taken them out in crowds without meltdowns plenty of times. Our school always gets complimented on the good behavior of our students.

I taught 7th grade about 6 years ago and had 1/2 of one particular class that were angry, mean, disrespectful, parents who were kids themselves when they had these kids.

Unfortunately, discipline does not exist in the public school any longer. Some even threaten lawsuits if you "touch" their child. However, it's ok for your kid to run into teachers in the hall putting THEM in harms way.

Some were dealing drugs, selling weapons, bringing them to school, profanities right and left, no manners, disruptive on a daily basis.

That was my last year in the public domain. I now have my sanity back.
There is NO help for most of these children. The parents are the blame unless the kid has a mental illness that is not the fault of the parent.
These kids are no out of school. I can only imagine how many are dead or in jail/prison.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Some parents these days let the kids dictate to them and will stick up for them no matter what. Imagine a future not too far down the road where these brats are grown.

Then of course if you discipline your kids your apt to have the cops or CPS show up at the door.

It takes very little effort to discipline a child. You don't have to beat them either. Say what you mean and do what you say.

I left a full shopping cart twice when my daughter was young because she decided to throw a tantrum. Then every time I went to the store after that I left her with her father at home. That was fun for her about 2 weeks, but she soon realized she did wrong and agreed to behave if taken to the store. No spanking. Just the shock of being abruptly taken out of the situation was enough. When they get home they may pitch a fit, but ignoring them does work. A little inconvenience, but she never did it again. Some parents are just plain lazy.

Thats not rasism, but realistic view.

who knows. Down here this is how these things play out by race.

White- gets away with a slight reprimand
Black- if they get away with it is only because they can't get whipped in public
Latino- finds a corner or a bathroom and after an attitude adjustment they clean up the mess.

When I was a kid, my mom would have busted my ass in front of God and everyone before it ever got that far.

do you even know the history of special needs children in the US and the collusion between the state and fed government and the FDA? Between vaccinations, toxic foods and getting children on psych meds at a young age, children are nuts these days. But they have been raised to be.

Yes, the child might be autistic -- but the parent certainly should have had better sense than to drag such a kid out to a busy store right before Christmas. I'm guessing that with the way mom was acting the child is just a brat (mom would have shouted loud and clear if the child was autistic). I know several children who would pull this kind of thing and it's only about 2/8 autism and the rest behavioral disorders brought about by incorrect parenting.

there's no such thing as correct parenting. Every parent messes their child up a little.

Why blame the kids when it is obvious, as per the OP, that the kid was just a symptom of the parent ... granted the kid will eventually be solely responsible, but still the kid is a symptom of mommy, is that so surprising? Where was dad? Answering s trumpted charge made up by mommy maybe, not exactly uncommon is that.
