This ring around the moon isn't ice" "It's 54° (Saturday 12/22/12 in Louisiana), and something's not right" "COULD this be related to the Maya?" And then I joined you guys at GLP...Well, others saw it too... Then, I come out tonight AND HERE IT IS AGAIN!!!!!!!!! It's 64° on the ground now (12/23/12), two nights in a row, and SOMETHING'S NOT RIGHT! NO, I'm not looking for something, but my gut is talking to me... This means something. Down here, we see "ice rings" once or twice a year in January/February. This ring IS MASSIVE!!!! And two nights in a row ABOVE 50°!! I regret incurring the naysayers, but... This is something NEW and I "BELIEVE" IT MEANS SOMETHING!!  |

It will either rise earlier each day... or later... depending on the cycle... if you can video proof of it jumping around... then you made the history books friend :) D.) I have yet to see a ring in Kentucky this fall/winter here in Kentucky... I been looking and hoping... but nope! Last January we had a ring for about a week strait give or take a day... it happens. There was a Car dealership that was giving 1000 cash back signing bonus in addition to any other sales... to people who facebooked a picture of the ring to them... lol thats was pretty clever... u gotta admit... my facebook was on fire with pictures of the moon. the most epic ring I saw was fall 2003! Ice Crystals can be quite dangerous [link to www.boeing.com] The above link mentions convective weather systems... but regular ol ice crystals like whats happening now... can pose a risk. yeah its pretty damn crazy :) and i dont know if you know this... there isnt actually a ring up there... the ice crystals are all over the sky... typically they cover the entire sky... but they can be in patches... where ever the air is the coldest... the ring illusion comes from the moons light radiating... so there isnt a actual ring... its just illusion of light... and since patches can exist... one minute it can be there... the next not... and back again...
