Is the radiation threat real?
Most people don't think so and most people didn't think doomsday was real.

Would people lie about something so important as our health?

Is there anything we can do anyway?

We may not know for 20 years so it's perfect for a hoax.

A small group of people are geeked up about this.

Most people though are busy, too busy to notice?

I sort of think (just for today) that it just doesn't matter.

20 years is a long time to live anyway, at least most of us have 20 years before we die from it.

Enjoy your 20 or more years. It's not like we can get the plants to shut down except that Germany did. Germany still doesn't have a chance being next to France.

Maybe it is not such a big deal. Not that many people are interested in it.

Maybe it is a mistake to spend time worrying about it when we can waste our time being happy.

I look up at the sky, and wonder where I am on earth. Then I wonder where I am in the solar system. Then I wonder where I am in the galaxy. Then I wonder where I am in the universe.

Buy a Geiger counter it will scare the fuck out of you... be careful what you eat. eat a very low fat diet... radiation particles bind to fat cells a little easier the plant cells.

The bible calls it the plague of hail mingled with fire and lighting that kills 1/3 of the plants, fish, animals, birds, and mankind on the whole earth.

And guess what you have GE, The Rockefeller and Jp Morgan families to thank for it. as they built 100% of all the nuclear power plants in this country..

Just to give you an Idea how bad it is.. every radiation lab in the country is under top secret orders from the white house to return negative test results on anything sent in around the entire country for testing!

Re: Is the radiation threat real?
Stopped eating seafood two years ago. Took the time to educate myself about radioactive materials and nuclear power plants. Purchased a geiger counter and started monitoring my area. Removed the fluoride from my drinking water. Stopped eating hydrogenated oils. Quit smoking.

Radiation is a real threat!
Fluoride is a real poison!
Hydrogenated oil is thrown in just encase there right!

The problem is, do I want to be alive on this planet in 20 years? The future looks gloomy!

20 years is a long time. I have a geiger counter and I am swimming in the ocean and eating the fish. I think it is bad in Japan but no one seems to care and it isn't in the media for the most part. I watched horrified after the tsunami hit but I think this thing has too much paranoia. If it is as bad as said then what is the point in worrying?

Re: Is the radiation threat real?
Is it a threat?

Yes and no. Yes in that some people (or maybe just one person) will have a greater risk at cancer.

But, the chances are far, far higher that more people will die from cars in the future than from the radiation released.

I'm not saying that the area around Fukishema is prime real-estate to buy and move into. There is a very real risk of horrors unleashed.

Away from there, the risk - accumulative risk is extremely low, so low as to be statistically insignificant.

Of course if the Fukishema Plant was not reported on correctly and there was a far greater release of radioactive junk then matters can change very much.

Re: Is the radiation threat real?
• Only seven new reactors started up, while 19 were shut down in 2011. On 5 July 2012, one reactor was reconnected to the grid at Ohi in Japan and another unit is expected to generate power on the site within two weeks. However, it remains highly uncertain, how many others will receive permission to restart operations in Japan.
• Four countries announced that they will phase out nuclear power within a given timeframe.
• At least five countries have decided not to engage or re-engage in nuclear programs.
• In Bulgaria and Japan two reactors under construction were abandoned.
• In four countries new build projects were officially cancelled. Of the 59 units under construction in the world, at least 18 are experiencing multi-year delays, while the remaining 41 projects were started within the past five years or have not yet reached projected start-up dates, making it difficult to assess whether they are running on schedule.
• Construction costs are rapidly rising.

In Japan, and ultimately everywhere else.

Not from direct explosion.

From explosion that cause leak.

Re: Is the radiation threat real?
I went on a whale watch today and at the end of it the guy said ask any question you want on the way out. On the way out I asked this guy "what about the whales and radiation?" He said " you mean the tsunami?" I said "I mean the triple meltdown."

"That's a good question he said."

This was a Pacific Whale Foundation boat and they are about clean oceans and saving the whales.

He knew nothing about radiation, hadn't even thought about it. Are we crazy? Is there really a problem? He was clueless. And Japan was soo far away he said.

Another is radiation real (?) moment.
