Re: Anyone that could help I'd forever appreciate
Hi, let me start off by saying my life has been one train wreck after another. My whole childhood was shit. Growing up I've always tried to do the best I can to help those around me. Now I've lost everything. I lost the one girl that made me feel human, which is something I never knew before. I lost all of my friends because of immature acts of fools with Peter Pan Syndrome. My family is so fucking twisted I can't even speak of them without flying into an emotional cocktail of rage and sadness. I have no job now. I got thrown out of school over a technicality. I am slowly losing touch with my faith and with hope. Every day I wake up I wish I hadn't. I beg God for help and guidance and nothing ever comes. I've tried to kill myself 5 times in the past six months and for what ever mystical cruel universal prank I can't. I've spoke to doctors they tell me that nothing is wrong with me and no medication in the world can help. They have tried everything from anti-depressants to mood-stabilizers nothing works. I honestly don't know why the hell I'm even bothering to post anything on here seeing as only about 2% of anyone takes anything seriously. But I guess I have no options. Please, does anyone have any advice what so ever?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30747832

I have good news for you friend. The doctors were right! There is NOTHING wrong with you. : )

Do you want to know why you have difficulty feeling 'human'? It's because the core of your true nature/identity is one which supersedes and transcends what it means to be 'human'. There is an element of you that knows this truth, but the nature of our temporary circumstances in this physical world makes it difficult to bring this awareness to the surface. You know you are not the physical body that you see in the mirror but instead infinite spirit/consciousness/energy having a temporary 'human' experience on this Earthly physical plane. It is this veiled inner 'knowing' that you possess that serves to create the rift and the difficulty that you experience when you try to seek your identity within the 'human' experience. You know you are not of this physical world so when you try to identify with experiences that are a product of this world, you feel a sense of inner conflict within. Here's a list of other things which you are not:

- You are not your physical body, your race, or your gender.
- You are not defined by your career or your employment status.
- You are not defined by your relationship with a significant other or your lack of one.
- You are not defined by your relationship with your family members or relatives.
- You are not defined by the brain/ego in your head that pervades your consciousness with self-defeating thoughts.

You are none of these things because all of these things are only a product of the physical world and you know deep down that the core of who you really are transcends this. These are merely 'experiences', 'roles', 'circumstances' that we are exposed to during our temporary incarnation into this physical world to learn and to grow. While the suffering that you experience from your perception of your circumstances is real, it is important to begin to see that the circumstances themselves are NOT the root cause of the pain - it is your PERCEPTION of them. To help yourself you must work to shift your focus away from the external circumstances that you believe to be the cause of your suffering and redirect your focus to your inner 'circumstances'. Try to view your external circumstances as 'inconveniences' rather than any actual threats to your well-being - because the core of who you really are is not threatened by these temporary circumstances of this physical world. You must alter your perception to alter the emotional reaction that you have from these temporary 'circumstances' that you experience. The answers you need are within you and not external to you - you just have to work to find them. This is why you found the antidepressants didn't help you - you cannot find an external physical solution to an inherently internal & spiritual 'ailment'.

As someone who can relate to your description of your life experiences and with the present state of mind that you find yourself in, I understand if what I'm about to say does not immediately register or make sense to you. You see youself as being in the position of having 'lost everything' but I see something very different. I see you as an individual who has endured the necessary hardships in this lifetime to prime yourself to finally be in the position to experience a life-changing breakthrough and stand to GAIN 'everything' in the process. By 'everything' I mean freedom from your fears and to finally find the inner peace you have been searching for. Your experiences thus far in your life have absolutely not been in vain, so do not look back with regret - they serve a very important role in your path of spiritual growth & evolution.

You have to experience this process of losing what you perceived to be your identity before you can truly find yourself. In order to build the real YOU up - you need to experience the falling away of all that is not you. To discover and unlock what works we unfortunately need to experience and find out what doesn't work first! You have already begun the process of distancing yourself from these illusory & false perceptions that do not truly define you - and for that reason I see you as being in an advantageous position and being a step AHEAD of the game. From pain will come pleasure. Just like a woman must endure the pain from her pregnancy and the process of giving birth to create a beautiful new 'life' - you also have to endure the pain and discomfort that you have experienced before you can create and give birth to a 'new' you in the process of reconnecting with your spiritual identity.

What I'm saying is - there is nothing wrong with you! You are par for the course and walking the path that you need to walk in order to find what you've been searching for. Please do not think of harming yourself anymore. The previous 5 attempts failed because you were meant to remain here - you are here for a very important reason. You are presented with a test in this lifetime - a challenge to discover who you truly are. You are here to achieve this endeavor in the face of pain and adversity. You are not here to give up. You are hiking up a mountainside on route to your goal which is the summit. You have to forge ahead no matter how treacherous the terrain seems at times. You do not want to give up and go tumbling down the mountainside only to have to start the slow and painful ascent again from the bottom of the mountain. You've come so far there is no wasting this opportunity you have before you. Every step forward you take no matter how seemingly insigificant - it's PROGRESS towards your goal.

Hang in there. There are many individuals who will read your story and understand what you are going through - for that reason you are not alone. The process of inner transformation of your consciousness is not limited to incremental and gradual/slow 'changes' and improvement. The truth is that exponential breakthroughs will occur when you least expect them to - so you have to push forward. For now you'll have to take my word for it - but in due time you will know this truth first-hand.

Re: Anyone that could help I'd forever appreciate
OP, I can't begin to imagine what you have gone through in your life. Nor do I know your heart. But God knows. He sees all your hardships, and all your pain. And He has a plan for the lives of each of us, including you.

His plan begins with our relationship with Him. He knows we fail in our lives. He knows we're not good enough to make it to heaven by ourselves through our own deeds. So He created a plan just for us to allow us into His family, and to allow His Holy Spirit into our lives. Only then, when we've been born again, can the Holy Spirit come into our lives and straighten out the messes we've created. And we've all created plenty.

His plan is for us to understand that we are all imperfect, that we all make mistakes, and that we cannot go to heaven with such a rap sheet as we make for ourselves. But the Good News is that God has a solution for our problem. He has given his only Son, Yeshua(Jesus) to come to earth to take our place and our punishment for the wrong things we've done in our lives. Yeshua is perfect and without mistake. But He was sacrificed for us, so that He took our punishment upon Himself so that we wouldn't have to receive it ourselves when He died on the cross for our sins.

Then God proved His power by resurrecting Yeshua and ascending Him back up to heaven in front of witnesses to prove that He's teh real deal.

All we have to do is understand that Yeshua(Jesus) died for our mistakes so that we wouldn't have to. We have to accept this Truth and turn away from our mistakes and sins and follow after Yeshua and His teachings. We have to verbally confess our sins before God, and accept God's free gift of our salvation through the sacrifice of His only son Yeshua so that we may live. We have to accept that Yeshua died for us, and was resurrected immortal after paying the price for our freedom. We have to make Yeshua the Lord of our hearts and our lives. We have to accept Him into our hearts as new followers of Him.

When we do this, we become 'born again' of the spirit. We become children of God. And after that, no matter what happens to us in this life, we will have immortal life forever after this live is over. And no one can take that life from you, no matter what happens.

This is what it means to get your life right with God. It's not about religion, or praying long and hard, but it's all about a personal relationship with Yeshua(Jesus). Once you have that, nothing else comes close in importance.

And once you are born again, God's Holy Spirit comes to live inside you. And when that happens, you will see that your problems will slowly begin to work themselves out. It's not necessarily a quick fix for your problems, but instead it becomes a path to the light. Then, you will know you're on the right track. Keep your eyes fixed on Yeshua and you will stay on the right path.

Read the bible, and find good Christians to meet with. Stay away from the pretenders, but look for honest & humble believers to share your new spirituality with.

And don't let the haters dissuade you from the path. It'll be full of distractions, but just stay the course and you'll be fine.

Peace & God Bless You

OP, you're presenting many issues.

I would take one issue at a time.

Find which one is the most important.

From what you stated, I would first focus on getting a job.

One issue at a time, one step at a time.

There is a growing multitude of those who for whatever reasons are in the same position in their lives as the OP.

So many are spiritually, emotionally, financially and/or physically bereft.

Reflecting on these conditions in our own lives or or the fortunate lack thereof might motivate some to reach out to others with encouragement, comfort or advice or any type of aid they are able to provide.

It does make a difference in the universe.

First thing to do is to stop being a victim. The second thing you do is every morning, thank God for the blessings he is giving you, and that includes all the things you think of as bad. Every bad thing that happens to you has a gift for you in its hands. That's why they happen, for you to find those gifts.

And you don't have to worry that you are not in the right place in your life. As John Lennon said, "You are right for where you're at." If you weren't, you'd be somewhere else.

Examine your life OP, how many hours a day are you watching tv, playing video games, etc. How many minutes do you spend in prayer and reading the word. Prayer changes things. Rebuke the devil in Jesus name, get you a scripture and think, meditate on it night and day. Keep your mind on the Lord at all times. Listen to the Bible. go to biblegateway.com they have an audio Bible, you will be surprised how fast your mind will change for the better if you will put you some headphones on and start listening. I will be praying for you. This really will help

OP,

This has become a pattern with a lot of people.
It Seems like you are walking in 3 foot snow drifts all the time, with pouring rain beating you down.

All there is for you to do at this point is to give yourself something to lift yourself up enough to see where your heading.

You can start off by doing some Volunteer work and getting a small job, Doing dishes or a jog sweeping (both are good for the soul).

And the big one, Never walk around with your head down, and always smile,, Smileing invites good things, the other leaves you never knowing.

So lift your head up and keep pushing forward untill the snow melts and the sun comes out.

So sorry you're going through hard times. Please note that finding a job, a girlfriend or religion are all external sources of happiness/sadness...and distraction. true control comes from within.

Buddha says: all life is suffering

Wanted to share a few things that have helped me...

1) find something beautiful to hold in your heart. This could be anything. Depends on what you like. Nature is rich with awe-inspiring beauty. Go for a walk, take your camera, and find the most amazing, yet beautiful objet you can find. A tree, a butterfly, a flower. Beauty is all around. But find the single thing that makes you pause. When you find something, Spend a few minutes to really "drink" it in. When you're ready to move on, take a picture of it and use it as your source of inspiration of beauty and life. You can use it as a screensaver, or print out the picture and hang it around around home. (don't use people or pets for this exercise)

2) purge the negativity out of your life. For this, it gets more complicated. But if you're determined, you'd be amazed at the results. You'll have to watch every thought that pops up in your head. Every time something negative pops up, say to yourself "cancel that." and create a new thought of the opposite, yet positive thought. Even, getting frustrated at traffic, find something positive to say about it. Try to shoot for one day at a time...as in "today, all my thoughts will be positive and non-judgmental."

3) spend time every day journaling. You can do the #2 exercise on paper. Writing down everything that is in your head. Find the negative, judgmental words...cancel them and replace the, with words of power and positivivity. Tis is why people who journal gratitudes have wonderful results

4) spend a few minutes everyday in meditation. Simply quieting the mind, or at least being aware, has intense effects that will renew your sense of power and compassion.

Hang in there buddy. I hope these help you.

Re: Anyone that could help I'd forever appreciate
OP, I'm sorry to hear about this. Life is very depressing. It does seem like we get pummeled with crisis after crisis and once one thing resolves, it is replaced with another problem.

That's life. Shit happens. Yep.

The thing is though, if we sit around waiting for things to get better, they never will. If we sit around waiting for happiness to happen, it won't. We only have right now. And we have the power to choose our perspective on life.

Happiness is a choice, so is sadness. It's hard to understand that, but the best thing you can do for yourself is to make a conscious decision to change how you think. Replace all negative thoughts with positive - every time. Do this regularly and without worry. Understand that if you can get yourself into the habit of positive thinking, life becomes much easier to face.

Help people often. Be grateful. Every day when you wake up and periodically throughout the day, list all the things you are grateful for. Think about these good things and push the crap put of your mind. Replace all bad with good. All darkness with light.

And remember : tomorrow the sun will rise - and who knows what the tide will bring.

Hang in there. I'm sending you lots of bright, happy energy. Try to open yourself up to receive that gift.

one of the reason i see all this shit happening is becasue those so called freinds and familly are not vibrating with who you really are. And "God" is taking you away from them.

"god" is literraly telling you to ditch all that "life" and start over. Full format.

just be yourself and dont let others knock you down because of it.

If people can not accept you for who you are, then they don't deserve to know you. :D

like i once said to an homeless guy in montreal.

"If you can't think positivly. Act kindly and generously. The mind will fallow eventualy." Hope it helps you!

oh and about love. If love hurts you, then ditch it.

do all you do with passion not with love. You will see a huge difference.
To live is to believe in the power of dreams! To dream is to believe in the power of love! To love is to Know the truth!
The Desire to Be fuel the belief that you Are which ignite the Will to Become which bring back forth the desire to be...
Let it be-come you! It means Stop seeking your higher self! It is seeking you! Stand still in your mind to calm the waters of your mind and then it shall find you, so you can ride those waves together!
your true self lies somewhere between your heart and your consciousness. It is called the heart consciousness, which is the creator, which is you!
The heart create the emotions and our mind evoke its purpose, from which we dream the life we live in order to imagine the nature of reality and finally remember love!

The highest Purpose of our mind is the ability to Forget! Go on and Forgive yourself!
There is no love in truth but there is truth in love!
Be authentic, nobody else can do it for you!

Dude you have no clue how right I am with God I spent a year of homelessness, because my family screwed me over and not only did I forgive them I let myself fall to God's will I have prayed every day and every night for 5 years for God to show me what to do and to guide me. God clearly has a plan for me I have slashed my wrists until and I quote a doctor on this "Holy Moses that looks like a road map". I feel like God hates me even though every waking breath I devote to any that need me. I have went without so many times just so others could have a meal and be happy even if just for one night. I worked my ass off and spent every penny I made to help out 4 of my friends who would have been homeless and starving if not. Trust me I am right with God the thing is I'm lost and beaten and I'm losing faith.

God will not cast a magic spell and save you. Sorry he's busy. And he also has sorta tried.....you need to leave the place you are in find solitude in the wilderness alone. Find god within yourself. Has there anything that was easily achievable let alone true happiness........ Meditate your third eye chakra, Google it. Either do or don't for god knows you have been informed as well. Open your third eye or face your like without happiness. You have been giving a choice ac. Open your third eye and take controll of your life or do not.

Re: Anyone that could help I'd forever appreciate
Hi OP, I will say prayers for you, but I've found in my own life (and I'm freakin' old :), that if I'm really down, and feel hopeless, it helps enormously to help other people. Do some volunteer work perhaps, and make it such that it's not just once or twice. It will lift your spirits so much!
 Quoting: INK3

I was reading through the posts to see if anyone else said this. I agree.

OP, do what you can to get out of the same old thing. Helping others is great and you will meet other people that are as nice as you are and other people who are worse off than you are.

Expanding your world will expand your opportunities. I know you said you live in the boonies, so you might have to volunteer at a church or even just for neighbors.

The important thing is to do something different. This provides new doors and new opportunities. Do it a lot and watch for new ways to do something different.

You are in my prayers.

If your life is miserable, and you are losing faith because of that, it is understandable.

I cannot blame you for that.

Billions of people live in misery. Why doesn't God help them?

You can only help yourself, but you must have some good fortune.

Nice words won't cure problems. Facing reality and making the best choice may help.

Re: Anyone that could help I'd forever appreciate
There are two horrible things it would be good to avoid.

(a) Unpleasant relationship/s.

(b) The lack of finances.

If you are suffering from both then it is tough. Sort out the finance thing first by being clever with your moves and plot your way day by day to get out of it, don't worry how long it takes, get out of all unhealthy relationships even with those you feel you don't really trust, don't be dependant on anyone's friendship you don't know well.

If you are not living alone, try and get a place and have your own domain, bedroom, lounge, bathroom and kitchen and don't allow anyone under your roof ! Give yourself a very long time to find yourself. Meet them for coffee if they are looking for you, don't be soft and don't give anyone any reasons either. Keep your doors locked at all times.

Take charge of yourself and your home and make it as pleasant as possible.

Make sure you have no TV, Internet, cell phones under your roof, don't watch movies, no drugs and alchohol, keep your cell phone in your car and go there if you want to use it.

If you are allowed to keep an animal with you do so and enjoy it. Keep abreast with the news so you know what is going on, maybe through the newspaper.

If you don't play a musical instrument, now is the time to find what you like and learn to play it. If you are good at it, join a club and avoid all stressfull and demanding environments as money is the driving factor, stick to the art of music - go for decent music you like and still don't bring anyone into your home which is now your paradise. If you meet a lady you like, go out with her and get to know her over two years or so, don't have to have sex, leave that for marriage and live decent. Don't get involved with a girl who has serious mother and father problems as this is going to be repeated in your home, it becomes a bondage. Check it out first, and see if you can manage it or how well she has grown out of her problems and you out of your problems.

All the hobbies and sport you like, get back into it and do new ones you like.

If you do not have a higher education, now is the time to study so you can improve your living standards and perhaps buy a home if you don't have one already.

Choose something that will be fulfilling to you, go for the sciences as it will keep your mind occupied and become a master at it no matter how long it takes, and you and your girl can support each other in your improvements in life. Once you have qualified you are going to feel great and you will then be associating with people who have the same interests as you do and you are going to feel important which is good for you.

If you have a nice big home you can enjoy a great circle of friends you both like. Only take on what you can cope with, if you can cope with children which is a very hard thing these days, then do it otherwise avoid it.

If you have no children you and your wife can use your savings and tour the world in your old age and enjoy it.

You can be your own master if you want to and live a great decent life no matter where you are.

First of all, Merry Christmas!

Second, you need to change your mindset. True friends are easily won back with honesty and an apology. Your family is worried about you and feel inadequate that they can't help you. Instead of flying into a rage, talk with them, quietly and maybe you might be surprised. God is always there, even if you don't feel him there, he's there.

Many successful people have had the same kind of crosses as you are bearing. The difference is their attitude. You are allowing yourself to be a victim, they refused to do this. You can only be a victim if you give permission for yourself to be a victim.

Resolve tomorrow to get up and change your life. It's not going to be easy but you can do it. And stop trying to hurt yourself. God must have something awfully important for you to do cause he has not allowed you to succeed in hurting yourself.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you change your attitude. The world mirrors back to you what you put out. If you greet everyone with a smile, a hearty hello and an inquiry of how they are, soon everyone will be greeting you that way, it will be second nature.

Your homework assignment is to watch "It's a Wonderful Life". It's not just a great Christmas movie, it's a great life movie. After you watch, cry your eyes out, really cry, sob, let it all out, it's good to have a good cry every once in a while and this movie will bring it all out.

Next, figure out what you need that everyone isn't giving you. This is the reason you are so down. You are in a vicious cycle, you want things to be ok but you aren't trying to make them ok. Instead you are wallowing in self pity. Self pity is like quicksand. You need to get yourself out of that cycle, now. To have a friend, you need to be a friend. Once you figure out what you need from the people around you, you need to start treating people the way you want them to treat you. And you need to stop with the "I's". Everyone has problems and crosses, everyone. Stop focusing in on yours. Instead resolve to help someone with their cross. Do some shopping for an elderly person in your neighborhood. Volunteer at a food pantry. Do something for your family that shows you want to contribute. It's an old expression but seriously, actions do speak waaaay louder than words. So you don't necessarily need to talk, just act. Let your actions speak for you.

Don't worry about the girl. You pushed her away cause you didn't feel worthy of her. If you are truly meant to be, you will end up back together. If not, there will be someone else and she will have been the catalyst for you deciding to change your life for the better.

Focus in on all the good parts of yourself, let them shine. Discourage the bad parts. No more trying to commit suicide.
That's a waste of time and energy and you have living to get on with. You have big things to accomplish and places to go and you have no time for the wallowing in self pity and hurting yourself, no time. Love yourself. Then others will love you too. No one wants to be around "debbie downer" (sorry to the debbies), everyone wants to be around the positive, can do guy. You are him, you have to make him come out again. You have to give yourself permission to be happy again. Do it.

Re: Anyone that could help I'd forever appreciate
Lots of good advice for you OP. It helps. But, what you need is IMMEDIATE. I counseled for years and I ALWAYS had to go to the the Lord to find the right answers to deal with the problems. WE have answers that have been right for US. The answers you need, are the right answers for YOU. There is only one place to find THAT, and there is only one WAY to find it.

From my own background, I have seen FAR TOO MANY people like you who have been battered their whole lives. I like to believe and have confirmed many times that many of these people were the CHOSEN OF GOD. Most in the world would not have been able to handle ONE IOTA what what you are talking about. You have SPECIAL GIFTS that I can see just by what you are posting, but they are not special gifts to you. You have yet to be able to put some things together. IN EVERY SINGLE CASE I HAVE EVER SEEN OVER THE YEARS, once this point of realization is made; a sense of wonder and awe has befallen all those who come to that realization--and every other person who saw that realization occur. You have a much greater purpose than you can see right now. As crazy as it sounds, you need to EMBRACE THE PAIN. This sounds counterintuitive, but it falls in the same area as "in order to live, you must die" or "in order to GAIN it all, you must GIVE UP ALL. The wisdom of the Lord is far greater than ANYTHING we can say to you in spite of all the counseling in the world we can give to you. My advice is simple:

With the same earnestness that you have shared here today, go into prayer to the Lord and ask SPECIFICALLY what it is you need to have addressed to "get your heart right with the Lord". You must be prepared in your heart to receive the answer because He WILL give you the answer--even if it is the LAST thing you want to hear. He will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is, how it came about, and EXACTLY what you need to do. The problem lies in your ACCEPTANCE of what He has to say to you.

After you have prayed with everything in you, THEN comes the hard part. Close your eyes and open your Bible at any random spot. Be prepared to receive the hardest WORD you will ever receive in your life, because HE will not mince words nor seek to PACIFY YOU. Somewhere in the two pages facing you or the two pages preceding or following those two pages will be the answer you seek. He may ream you a new butt, He may be gentle with you and give you "meat in due season", or He may show you the errors of your ways. It may even seem that He is relegating you to the "pit", but you must keep in mind that HE knows you better than you know yourself or could EVER know. You need to ACCEPT what He says, and take the steps He advises you to take. It may be in accordance to much of what you already have heard(or read), it may go completely against it. HE KNOWS. Once you SEE, you must BE, and then DO. In this way, you will establish a RELATIONSHIP that will NEVER let you down. No other person or relationship on earth can replace this one. All other relationships are FALSE without this one. ALL good deeds done in the flesh are NOTHING without the ONE GOOD DEED you do for your own salvation, because many will use this as a CRUTCH to "claim" this relationship when, in reality, "HE NEVER KNEW YOU", and you never knew HIM.

After you have received His WORD, share it with all your heart just as you have shared your pain and suffering. This will "keep the feet of the Saints" just as HE has kept YOUR FEET. Check out all the things you must "keep". Keep them as much as you can understand (and much of it will be second nature to you as it already is.) THAT RELATIONSHIP MUST BE KEPT MOMENT BY MOMENT. Your need is NOW. Your response must also be NOW, for "now is the day of salvation." Be at peace dear brother for God loves you with a love that passes understanding. IF YOU WERE THE ONLY PERSON ON EARTH, HE WOULD HAVE STILL DIED FOR YOU. He was willing to face ETERNAL DEATH in order for you to have Eternal Life. HE suffered the pain YOU DESERVE so that YOU don't have to suffer it. EVERY SINGLE TEAR THAT FALLS FROM YOUR EYES is a DIAMOND on the crown you will receive if you will just remain faithful. Some will have HEAVY CROWNS and some will have light ones, but ALL will be satisfied with their crowns. In the end, when asked what you had to suffer for the promise of eternal life, the answer will come quickly from your lips: "such a small price to pay for the eternal weight of GLORY!!"
The TRUTH is stranger than FICTION.
