Second, please know that, as a child of the universe, you are an integral part of all goodness and love. Know this to be the ONLY truth, for each and every one of us, no matter who we are or what our lives have been. I won't be giving you advise, but instead sharing with you the one experience that has made all the difference for me in my life. Here goes: A number of years ago, I had sought help to heal from a traumatic incident in my childhood and the couselor knew me to be a compassionate person who needed to learn how to use that compassion on myself. So she helped me create a rescuer me that came to the aid of my child self and stood up for and protected me. I have used this over and over again through these past several decades to help me heal and keep me integrated. Any time I found myself in a hurtful situation or feeling small, vulnerable and lost, I would pull out my rescuer self and let her do the talking. She has defended me, comforted me, healed me. She is the part of me that is the sane, just, adult part of my being that was kept down and hidden during all those years of abuse and pain. And, over the years, she has emerged as the real me; a powerful, sane, strong, adult who not only knows how to care for, love and nuture myself, but can do so for my world and those in it as well. You talk about your compassion being the one thing that keeps you feeling human. This has been my creators gift to me as well. I call on it daily and it has allowed me to build a life of love and giving and joy. But I had to learn to use this gift to bring goodness to my world by learning to give it to myself first. The school I was given was me, the lessons, my life. You have been given everything you need to live a life of love and peace. You are your own champion. So, within your mind, create a loving, protective entity. Imagine yourself as a small child. What would that entity do? Hold you, tell you that you are loved, keep you safe from harm? Of course, because as a compassionate person, this is what you already know how to do for others. It is the gift you bring to the world. But the irony is that we can not bring to our world that which we cannot do for ourselves first. Only a cup that is truly full can overflow. Now all that is left is for you to give that gift to yourself and learn to use to love and heal yourself. Then you can bring that gift to the rest of us as a whole and healthy person who overflows with that wonderful being that was given life to bring love to the world. Blessings and Love - you are worthy of both and all in abundance. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 25030345 12/24/2012 01:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP - Let's pause and think for a minute: Suppose you are in a new town and you are lost. You look around and you see a bunch of tourists taking photos, binoculars around neck. Would you go to them and ask for directions? Probably not. You would probably go to a store, or gas station, or a mail carrier doing rounds...someone who knows the town. Now you are lost. You are realizing that you need help. You don't know which way to turn to find your way back to sanity. So pause and think: Who do you know in your life, your world that seems like they are leading a good life? Successful, maybe not rich, but financially comfortable, no major issues, good family life, helpful to community, whatever strikes you as balanced, well-grounded, stable person. Could be a former or present teacher, a pastor, a school counselor, an old family friend, a former boss (maybe was hard on you, kicked your ass around because s(he) saw some potential in you? A neighbor? Call them and say, "I always respected you as a well grounded stable person, a good example to someone young like me. Would you be able to spend no more than an hour with me to help me chart my direction? I really meed good advice and I much rather turn to someone like you." Now be sure you mean it - that you respect this person and will take their advice seriously. Then ask them: Did they have difficulties? How did they overcome? What did they do to cope when things got really negative? If you can think of more than one person, then lucky for you! Approach all! They know the direction and can point the map. Try - it just maybe your lucky break. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 27794780 12/24/2012 01:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So, your parents took out their stress of life on you. Well, now you can pacify yourself by learning meditation. It takes no money, and it is a form of self-hypnosis. Breathe in deeply, count to 10 or 4 or 5, and let out the breathe slowly. Breathe into your stomach, not your chest, by expanding your stomach. You think of no thoughts and you cancel negative thoughts by saying "cancel, cancel" whenever you have one come into mind. At first you will not catch it right away, but when you do just say "cancel, cancel" for in 30 days you will catch it right away when it happens. This does not mean to add anxiety or sadness or any other emotion, simply acknowledge emotions but do not "REACT" to any emotion. Most of the world "reacts" or feels like they have to defend something, sometimes some people do not feel like they have to defend anything. What you have to defend is how you feel about it, and just acknowledge how you feel without over-reacting, or getting bent out about it. You can only help those who help theirselves. You are not their keeper or caretaker. You are your own caretaker and keeper. Do that first and perhaps someday you can help others, but help yourself out first. There are a bunch of people (whom will be called a-holes and some are) and these people all have their own problems also. Do not shy away as if you do not belong (but afterall belonging to the human race may not be actually needed in a sense of well-being). Find out the resources available to you and if nothing else, turn off everything. Surround yourself with your own creative tree, while sitting underneath. The notes on the tree like the leaves may say nothing, but then you may come across one that has an creative idea on it. Let yourself breath by giving yourself "space" and in the end avoid the "train-wreck" life that has been controlling you. Simply do not react in a negative way or react or feel guilty if you do not have to for others and their emotional, personal, and habitual problems. All people have habits, some people have more bad habits than good habits. It is the journey of the life and not the life its self. Seek others not to help but help yourself out of your own "train-wreck" first, then you may have learned something that was there all the time, and perhaps about life in general. Don't let your life be an end, but a journey that can change every day by looking at life in a different way. Adjust to the moments of seeing something different or in a different way, and just acknowledge the emotions in the end. Life will change, it always does, but what you do, is and will be up to you. Do not go off half-cocked, just cocked, a lot of other people do, but do acknowledge it, instead of reacting" to it and say that is not a person's total life, just a small segment in a brief history of time. Do not be persuaded by others unless you have thought about it first, and decided that it was something you really need. Be not controlled, and do not control. Meditation, and quieting your mind for a period of time during the day, and doing the breathing exercises will help out. In fact, it is a standard today for everyone to do: [link to www.youtube.com] And it does not cost anything to do! |

Go spend some time in a hospice facility where people would give anything to be in your healthy body. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Go for walks. Talk to strangers in person. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. The pain you feel is the pain you've earned. Forgive and forget. Live and learn. Don't put yourself in circumstances that you've learned from the past can hurt you. Stop expecting other people to make you better. Only God can make you better, and only if you choose to forgive. "Forgive, and you shall be forgiven." Stop thinking of yourself as 'innocent'. The pain you feel is the pain you've earned (karma is God's law is perfect). Forgive everyone who has hurt you. Don't expect to feel forgiveness; choose to forgive. Make a conscious decision to forgive. Don't tell the people you've forgiven them; just make the decision to forgive them, and stick to that decision. Thank God for the grace of time he's given you to get things right. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop and think for a second how many strangers here on GLP care enough about you to take the time to try to help you from the store of their wisdom and life experience. That is God's love working through strangers, just for you. Now go and do that for others. Someone needs you. Help that person. Be a blessing, and you will be blessed. Amen. |

Exercise, eat right. Deliberately let your life calm down. Take a whole year to do this - a whole year to calm down. save some money, keep your expenses minimal. Do not get into any relationships. stay away from family and former friends. Take the year for yourself, and don't try to figure anything out - just let yourself calm down, and rest. Get off it and quit blaming everything and everyone including God for what your life situation is. I could have every reason to do the same considering what my life situation is, but the fact of the matter is, I am here. I won the great sperm race 48 years ago and that shows me that inside me I made the choice to win and I am here for a reason. I have gone down the spiritual path and there is a lot of truth to one thing in particular that Jesus said and it is this:Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will rule over all." This is in the gospel of Thomas which I feel was deliberately left out of the bible because it warns us of a bridge we have to cross on our path that isn't always easy for those that make the choice to advance. You are at the point of being disturbed and somehow whether you realize it or not you have made the choice and are still making the choice to experience all of the things that you are experiencing. Sometimes hard lessons are thrown in the path of those that are destined to become leaders. It is up to you to make the choice to use these lessons constructively or give up. Just know that. When I was in your state of being disturbed, I can assure you that the thought of ending it all was almost pleasant, but I couldn't help myself figure out what else I learn from the extremely unpleasant circumstances in my life. It can get better. I am not going to coddle you like some on here and give you mamby pamby bullshit. Life can be cruel and hard, but life can be exhilarating and satisfying. My suggestion would be to go down to a homeless shelter and volunteer a bit of your time and see that there are others in even dyer straits. It might even behoove you to live there for awhile and live off of the charity of other for awhile and understand that there are many out there that have unconditional love and care for their fellow man. I don't even know you and trust me, my heart goes out to you and I can say with the utmost sincerity, I hope you allow yourself to see what it is you are experiencing and know that the answers you seek are right in front of you and within you. No one on here can help other than to show you ways to help help yourself. Hang in there brother or sister, you have many empathetic brethren in spirit. |

These types of treatments will be used with 100% success, and doctors will be a thing of the past. I bring it here now to you and anyone else freely who wants it. Take it or leave it! (Ego and Low Self Esteem) What you will need: Buy one bottle of 1000-1200mg Omega-3 fish oil. A quiet place with a mirror where you will not be disturbed. Complete scilence. Protocol: Days 1 to 3, take one fishoil every 6 hours, and be sure to wake up with an alarm to take it every 6 hours. Never miss! Day 4 is the same, except at 12:00 midnight stand in front of your mirror and just stare into your own eyes for one full hour. Instead ot watching the time which will become a distraction, please set a timer. Stare into yourself. You will see who you are. You will begin to question yourself, Your ego will step in, but your ego is not who you are. Your inward demonds will come forward... all those little things that have always held you back. Everything, and it may get ugly. That's just your ego. Nothing else. It's not real demons, just your own you've created! Cry if you need to (which you will I'm sure), but be firm! Your ego will fuck you up here at this point! It is trying to convince you that he is you. He is not! He/it will not let go easily. If and when you have any sort of head pain like headache, that is what you want. It's working. Continue this another day if needed. You will know when you have gotten control over it! ![]() "the truth will stand up, when nothing else will" |

The little pussy ass shit you've been through is nothing compared to real discord. Quoting: Chip Man I have and that has been what kept my faith going as long as it has. Knowing that Job had everything stripped away for nothing other than being the most faithful. But you honestly have no clue what I have been through so don't you dare attempt to act like it. I admit that I'm no Job by any means, but neither am I some 16 year old kid that cries because his dad works all the time. I came here for guidance not pity. if you're in that much trouble there are places to go. Ever hear of intentional communities? how about Walden Two by B.F. Skinner? Skinner had an idea that humans could be perfected by behavioral training--this was basically thrown out-- but his core ideas of living in harmony with others and nature that are represented in his book still echo today in places like twin oaks community. look it up. you dont need any status to live there, you just need to be willing to work and be an effective member of the society. Good luck brother, you're on all of our minds now so hopefully some loving warmth will come your way God Bless |
