These people do not play by the rules of human decency, they are predatory manipulators, a behavior that comes from a sneaky, fucked-up brain. In the main, they are not particularly smart, unless you define that as scheming, self-serving users. They do use smart people to attain their goals.

There should be a better word to describe them. It would be in the best interest of humanity to come up with a more accurate one, to find a label that resonates their true qualities. Megalomaniacs doesn't quite cut it, I had been trying megalos, but there needs to be a word that reeks of psychotic evil.
