It wasn't like that when I was a kid, I never heard them refer to "the elite" in just about every news story

Tom Keene on Bloomberg Radio is forever asking his financial guests "what do the elite think of...."

At least when there was a royalty, you knew who their names were.

Now they just hint at them, and have already granted them endless power and privilege, and we don't even really know who they are, nor what kind of organization they have so that they can act and work as a group

sure we can guess at the usual 3 letter suspects, or Bilderberg or Davos, but if you do that, you are automatically branded a conspiracy theorist and your very sanity almost questioned

I'm recovering from owing the IRS money because me and my business partner hired an attorney to file our articles of incorporation (an LLC).

She (the attorney) didn't word the title correctly (and disappeared), and our accountant never caught it so when we got audited, which you KNOW will happen, we owed money for our personal taxes.

The GOVERNMENT certified the attorney to "practice law.

The GOVERNMENT certified the accountant (who passed away) to do taxes.

The IRS investigated and saw what happened, but we still owed.

My biz partner and I lived and rented houses on a great ranch and our landlord died. The local GOVERNMENT would not allow the heirs to the estate to sell half the property (because a wealthy guy from Greece used HIS ATTORNEY'S to block the splitting of the property because he wanted the whole place for his "vacation" home). So we, along with 28 other people, lost our homes (to a foreigner) and were in debt to THE GOVERNMENT at the same time. TEN YEARS of 7 day a week hard work without vacations just dissolved away.

I'm recovering, and not giving up, but it will take many years, maybe the rest of my life (I'm 54) to get out of debt. All because of people that wear suits and ties and are certified, work for and pay my hard earned wages to our "wonderful" GOOBERMINT. (greatest country in the world my ass)

Before I opened my business I worked in the art/props/effects dept's in the film industry for 14 years. I really don't mind the insane money those people, and athletes, make. Just because the money is there and if they didn't make it, producers, promoters, managers (the list goes on forever) would be stuffing the cash in THEIR pockets.

The only time I don't have any sympathy for them is when they lose by being idiots it and everyone has benefits and events to help them. Like Elton John spending $110,000 A MONTH for fresh cut flowers for his multiple houses that he maybe sees once or twice a year. I can't believe people actually had sympathy for him and were so upset he was going broke. And Ed McMahon who made his living doing NOTHING but sitting next to another guy and grunting out a chuckle now and then.

I figure if I were Johnny Depp, or I was in his place and they offered me that much cash for doing something I enjoyed anyway I'D TAKE IT and not give a crap what anyone thought while I was in my villa in Tuscany or on my yacht in Monte Carlo. (I wouldn't spend my fortune like that anyway, and I doubt you would either since we both *I'm assuming* know what it's like to be a HAVE-NOT and I'd get more shits and giggles off helping others, mostly friends and even my ex-wife, and just having a nice place and a few toys).

You're right. It's kind of like cancer or something. You have sympathy for those that have it, but it doesn't hit home until you or someone you care about gets "the diagnosis".

I'VE GOT A QUESTION! Why does everyone hate Warren Buffet so much? I dated and lived with a girl who's best friend, Jenny, married Warren's son Peter and we went to the reception. A barbeque in the backyard of a normal little suburban house by the Illinois/Wisconsin border. I wasn't aware of Warren's fortune then. Warren was there with his wife. They drove themselves in a Chevy pickup truck and was just a pleasant everyday kind of guy. I won't argue with anyone over him being evil or a manipulator, I'm just in the dark about his *evil deeds*. The way I see it he's just a guy who worked hard and got real lucky. Maybe not. I didn't see him shape-shift from human to reptilian, unless he did it in the bathroom when nobody was looking.
