In a state with one of the strictest gun laws in the US, just like the other shootings. In places where guns are strictly regulated like in good ole Great Britain, where you gave up your guns a long time ago.

You might want to look into things before you make uninformed remarks. Probably an illegal gun, and in a place where they knew they were safe shooting up the place.

That's 28 per day, and we never get 24/7 coverage for each small child killed with stories of how they wanted to be a Doctor, Pilot or even the President. We don't get to hear every detail of their lives for 2 weeks straight every half hour on the hour, nor are we told of the funerals while somber music plays in the background. We never get to see the impromptu roadside markers that are put up, with the candle light vigils and stuffed animals for the victims of drunk driving. We never see the President on TV wiping away fake tears for the victims, talking about the need for Prohibition to save the little children.

If the tragedy does not fit with the agenda it is not seen. It is no less tragic for the families, but they are ignored if they cannot be used to further the political goal. On average 29 children are killed in pedestrian School Bus accidents each year, with 5 more who are killed as passengers. That is 34 per year, yet we see nothing on the news for them, even though it is more than are killed in mass school shootings.

In the end you will find Bill Spengler was a convicted felon who killed his grandmother with a claw hammer in 1980. Did 7 years in prison and has been a problem in the community since then. He shared 191 Lake Rd with his sister who I am sure will be discovered killed prior to the fire being set. This was an ambush by a convicted felon who should have never been out to harm anyone again.
