A few days ago, I bought a hungry homeless man a sandwhich, chips, apple, and Danish and said a prayer for him. I always send love and light and offer prayers to any homeless that I see.

Dude needed 14 bucks to take the train back home. He and I were homeless so I made a sign and stood out at a stop light to make money. Gave him all my proceeds.

My sister gathers gifts from people to give to old folks in a local hospice whose families don't bother to visit them anymore and who would otherwise be alone on the holidays. They have a little party and receive the presents. I think that is a really good thing. The old folks really seem to like it from what I hear and have a good time for at least a few hours.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
Had a neighbor come up to me an ask if I could drive her to an elementary school and jump start her car. That didn't work so she decided to try to coast it down a little hill and try to make it the 2 1/2 blocks back to her house.. That didn't work either so I ended up pushing her van those 2 1/2 blocks lol. She tried to give me money but I said no.. It was a bit strenuous but I would always hope to have help on my side if I have a problem.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
this spring i gave a beautiful, well behaved rooster to some young girls i know.

then, all my chicks got eaten by predators.

well, they said to me, "your rooster started a fertility explosion here. we have 70 chicks!"

then they said "we're going to give you some chickens!" and they gave me 8 back!

so, i guess that shows that sometimes you are rewarded many times over for the good that you do.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
I think sharing these experiences that we do might encourage others to do something too to help others.

Examples are a necessary thing. How else are others taught?

No go find me a scripture to back that up.

Sometimes all people need to give a little of self is to see or know that others do it too.

Maybe they have held back because they fear rejection of their offerings as has already been stated by a few here.

One can get hurt just as easily as find joy but it is how you handle it.

The joy comes from the act of giving and not from watching to see what the person does with your gift.

When you gift something at that point you should never seek to know the outcome and NEVER go to into anger mode or resentment mode.

The gift you give must have wings and fly from you ....never to be sought after/followed or tracked from the point of your finger tips.

The joy comes from the giving and having your heart in the right place. If the persons does something else with it other than your intention.......that is on them and their heart not yours.

GOD gives you the joy

Satan takes it away.

Its your choice to which you allow.

When I find joy I want to hold onto it to infinity.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
It's understood that the desire of this thead is to inspire and yet to list acts of random kindness one has done seems a bit tacky. Perhaps it would be better to list random acts of kindness one wishes to do.

Random acts of kindness is varied and involves self-less giving on multiple levels.

It is the upliftment of someone's spirit. Sharing of ones inner light with another in some small way and helping to brighten their inner light.

James Stewart - It's a Wonderful Life ~ Complete Original/Unedited

On Christmas Eve 1946, George Bailey (James Stewart) is deeply depressed, even suicidal. Prayers for George are heard by the angels. Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers), an Angel Second Class, is sent to Earth to save him—and thereby earn his wings. Joseph, the head angel, reviews George's life with Clarence.

As a 12-year-old boy in 1919, George (Bobby Anderson) saved the life of his younger brother Harry (Todd Karns) after he fell through the ice on a pond, though George got an ear infection that impaired his hearing in one ear. Later, as an errand boy in a pharmacy, George stopped his boss, local druggist Mr. Gower (H.B. Warner), from mistakenly filling a child's prescription with poison while grief-stricken over the death of his son from influenza.

From childhood, George's greatest ambition has been to see the world and design bridges and skyscrapers. However, he repeatedly has to sacrifice his dreams for the well-being of others. He puts off going to college to help in the family business until Harry graduates from high school and can replace him at the Bailey Building and Loan Association, vital to many of the disadvantaged in town. On Harry's graduation night in 1928, George discusses his future with Mary Hatch (Donna Reed), who has had a crush on him since she was a little girl. Uncle Billy (Thomas Mitchell) and Harry then break the news to George that his father has had a stroke. Mr. Potter (Lionel Barrymore), a heartless slumlord, seizes the opportunity to try to convince the board of directors to end the "sentimental hogwash" of providing home loans for the working poor. George persuades them to reject Potter's proposal, but they agree only on condition that George himself run the Building and Loan. He reluctantly stays in Bedford Falls and gives his school money to his brother.
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
This was a couple years ago.....but still one of my favorites.

In a fast food drive thru paying for my order with a long line of cars behind me. I thought this would be fun since I had no idea of who was in the car immediately behind.

I asked the cashier how much the order was for that car and she said an amount....it was less than $10. Anyway, I said please let me pay for that car also and surprise them.

I got a strange look from her, but she allowed me to pay for them too.

I pulled away smiling, that was fun. Whoever was in the car had no idea who had just provided lunch for them. It made my day, I don't know about theres.

Can't get more 'random' than that.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
I have been the recipient of randam acts of kindess myself and it felt good there too.

Somebody renewed my Sam's card last year and I never found out who did that.

Last year while I was in walmart there was a young man (late teenage I suppose)....sitting on the bench just inside the door.

As I walked out he stopped me and told me he was hungry and had not eaten in several days.

I gave him all the money I had left in my purse.

That time when I left......I felt such sadness. I felt I should have done more for him and that feeling haunted me for several days. I was in a hurry that day and totally self absorbed in where I need to be quickly.

I wish I had given him more or taken him inside walmart to the subway and got him a large sandwich. I failed that time

so the Lord gave me another opportunity.

A couple of months ago I was on my way someplace and I passed this homeless man sitting down on the street corner with a sign asking for food and "anything would help".

I went on cause I had no money at all in my purse....

I went on about two blocks and turned into MacDonalds and got him a full meal of everything "large size" and paid with my debit card.

On my way back to him I was just hoping that he would still be sitting there and not gone. He was sitting there.

This poor man was so either mentally ill or hungry that he seemed incohorent. I gave him the big bag of food and drove thru a parking lot to get back out on the road. I saw him in my rear view mirror ....get up and he was walking to his (I imagine) "safe place" to go eat.

There are so many people in the world that ARE so grateful for "anything would help".

Most of us are so blessed and have much and can give and help.

Yes,,,,,,,,I too have been the recipient of "no good deed goes unpunished" but I can't let that keep me from doing or helping.

I once told a friend after having such an incidence of "no good deed goes unpunish" and told my friend I would never help anyone else (I was so hurt from this time).

He said something very powerful to me that is now permanently etching into my brain and gave me comfort.

He said: Don't grieve the Holy Spirit like that.

Lesson learned and I won't.

Why do you want to promote the egotistical people?

Random acts of kindness don't require and shouldn't have praise as the act of giving should be a personal reward not one looking for the reward or recognition of others.

random acts of kindness should not be things that you can remember nor should it be used to inspire... it comes and goes naturally from your heart, not something that needs to be inspired
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30618917

That is how I feel about it....I've been doing stuff like this since I was about 6 years old. It was like a game to me.

Do something very nice, run like hell and forget it. It has allowed me to be blessed over and over again with good fortune. Only I know what I did. To this day I do not even tell my husband. It is my vice, and it brings me pleasure.

The fact that it helps others is almost secondary to the joy I get out of it.

Just one example I will give...I spent over $1,500.00 in one day I had chosen to do my thing. Debit card hit & run at a local grocery stores to selected victims. I watched them, figured them out, followed them into the check out line, then just at the right moment...snuck the debit card in and paid for it...then walked out fast.

Later that day, I bought a lottery ticket when I got gas and scratched off $3,000.00 winner. I just can't stay ahead of my good fortune....anon

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
Although I try to behave with a kind heart, it is against my better judgement to boast about it. So instead, I'll share a few memories I have of when someone was kind to me.

1-I pulled up to a starbucks window and the car in front of me had paid for my order.

2-I was headed to a job interview completely unprepared for the weather. My hair was done, I had on a nice dress, but no coat and it was windy and raining. A man in a very nice suit, clearly had some place to go, walked up to me and handed me his umbrella, "Here, looks like you could use this." And he walked away. Never looked back for a thank you. Saved my rear that day, I would have walked into that interview looking like a drowned rat.

One time I regret not being kind:
I worked in the city, so people were asking for money all the time. Most of them were either slackers or mentally ill. I had learned to put my sunglasses on (so they couldn't make eye contact) and just walk. One day, close to christmas, an elderly man walked up asking for money. I ignored him. He said, "Ma'am...please" with a shaking voice. I walked on. Nearly at the office (it was a long walk from the parking lot to the building) I felt horrible and turned around to try and find him. I never did.

The car in front of us paid our turnpike toll on Saturday night. While I like to share ideas like this, I believe that true charity does not come only at Christmas or require a receipt for tax purposes. It is given freely with no strings attached at the time it is needed. Much love to all who help those who need it!!

Matthew 6:1-5

6 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
Excellent thread, OP. One of the goals of the NWO is to get everyone so worried and scared of end time prophecy and disasters that they stop loving each other, and thus don't make it into heaven.

My recent random acts of kindness:

I paid $4 for half the price of a church sale bicycle to an illegal immigrant who needed a bike, but could not afford the $8 for the used bike.

I gave a homeless one armed veteran $20 after he washed the sand off my feet in South Beach Fl... He was really nice and sweet and had just lost his mother to cancer.. He then turned on the foot washer as I exited the beach, and said Ma'am let me help you wash your feet. When I realized he had just done such a christ like thing, I gave him money for dinner. Im probably a sucker but, I had just heard a sermon about Christ needing to WASH ALL OF US, including our feet, and then this young homeless vet with one arm out of the blue washed MY feet using his good arm!

I wrote out a $125 christmas check for a child I support in the Philippines-- I know it will get there late, but at least I am faithful with the gift.

I encouraged a cashier at Home Goods to be allowed to say Merry Christmas-- not Happy Holidays.

During the Hurricane Sandy 1 week power outage, I left the hose out for my neighbors, and invited them to use my shower (which was working since I have a generator.) Nobody took me up on my offer, but at least I tried to be kind to them.

I gave the last pair of beautiful crystal earrings on sale at Christmas tree shop (in my cart)to a lady who wanted them.

I invited my Dad and step mother AGAIN for Christmas, even though never come to see me and always refuse the invite.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2924495

perhaps you were joking...or maybe I'm interpretting this wrong, but giving a homeless, one-armed man (whose mother just died) $20 for rinsing your feet does not leave me 'warm & fuzzy' inside

I really hope you are kidding hf

My neighbor's dog needed surgery on his knee. We saw him limping around and asked her about it. She couldn't afford the surgery as she is elderly and the cost was too much for her. She cried that it broke her heart.

We called the animal hospital and told them to anonymously bill us. They called my neighbor to schedule the surgery and told her it was being covered by a friend. To this day she has no idea we did it.

I hope she never finds out.

The most blessed acts of kindness are those done anonymously
and with a purpose.

St. Nicholas of Myra... the origin of our "Santa Claus"...
anonymously gave gifts to those with specific needs.

" The gift was focused on the recipient’s needs, not the giver’s...
' Nicholas demonstrated the value of intentional, targeted giving;
that is, giving in order to meet specific needs as opposed to giving
randomly for the sake of generosity or for ridding oneself of possessions.' "
