seriously...doesn't that defeat the point. Do your random acts of kindness anonymously and keep it private. Nobody likes a self righteous boastful egotistical self centered person...it is not a good path to be on. It's better to maintain humility and stay humble...you will be much better off for it and no, i'm not a religious nut.

I will randomly give Walmart cashiers my change. $5 to $15 for lunch money I just feel guilty knowing they are struggling working while I had better opportunities in life. It's not fair. It reminds me of a great gatsby quote that I live by...“Whenever you feel like criticizing any one…just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.”

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
Well, I was in a passenger seat of a minivan, with my friend who was driving. We were pulling into the right lane into a courtyard, when we noticed the car which was pulling into traffic, had its trunk open, and its a pretty big trunk, so we stopped right by the car, rolled down the windows, and told them. They look suprised, laughed and gave us a satisfied hand gesture.

I felt good.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
Not normally a giving type of guy, especially when I feel pressured to give (i.e. at work).

This last week, the big boss was hands-off and did not "encourage" employees to give (as he did always in the past via e-mail, not for the family, but for how he'd look as a Department Head) for our departments adopted family (a Christmas tradition for our agency). I took a $100 over to one of the women on the Adpopt-a-Family team (who I know would keep my identity quiet), and dropped an envelope into the larger big envelope, with a note to get whatever was left on the families wish list. I think what struck me as the mom of the family (no father and 3 young kids) was not looking for anything herself -- that made me think that yes, this family is special and deserves a gift. The woman who I did give the donation to came over to my office about an hour later, and said how generous it was. I thanked her for doing what she was and going out at nights buying presents, and said I didn't want it public about who gave the donation, and she understood.

One time when going to a local brothel a honeless guy walked up to me and asked for some change. It was a few days before christmas last year and I figured since I have enough money on me and this guy looked really starved, I gave him 50 Euro. I saw him about 5 months later, he rememered me and he actually got on his feet again, got a job and an appartment. I feel good about this helping someone a little bit who really needed it. Oh and I still did go to the girls that night.

Me too!

Also the other night I was exiting the freeway offramp and at the light was a guy with a flashlight and a sign saying something I couldn't read but it was obvious he was needing money. I couldn't really take time to go through my purse for a dollar bill as I was not at a complete stop, so I kind of dug around and all I could find were twenties, lol.

So I'm thinking, shoot, I've got a wad of twenties and he's out there in the cold and dark hoping for a dollar. So I gave him a twenty, what the heck. The light had turned green and there were cars behind me coming off the freeway so I just wadded it up and tossed it in his direction as I passed, and yelled out the window "IT'S A TWENTY!" I heard him as I drove off, "GOD BLESS YOU LADY, GOD BLESS YOU!" If I had a million, I'd just go around helping people all day.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
Another one, when i was doing better financially-wise, about once a month i did some shopping for animals in the animal shelter, like sticks for cats and bones or swine ears for dogs. All the stuff that the animal shelter itself would not buy because they have no money for it. I usually bought animal candy worth of 50-300 (so it was a lot). And i sent it all anoymously by mail (which was very expensive by itself haha). Made me feel good.

I truly love buying the person behind me in a fast food line their meal. I never see them, nor do they see me. But it plants a seed of paying it forward.

I've done it at the dry cleaners to.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
I gave a 4 man tent, sleeping bag,Coleman lantern,M65 field jacket and food to a homeless guy because he told me he was living in an abandoned house that had no roof and he was cold. It was all gone the next day, he had traded or sold it to get his alcohol or drugs. I was told he was addicted to both. Haven't done that again. Since then I just donate to Salvation Army. Figure they can make sure items are put to good use.

It's okay, you also gave him a dose of love and helped his self esteem by helping him so generously. For all you know, you may have saved his life.

My husband is Native American. Their view on giving is quite different from what I grew up knowing. Whenever they give something, it is 100% released to the recipient. What the recipient does with it after it is given is no concern whatsoever to the giver. Otherwise you didn't really give it, it had strings of expectation attached. I used to give DH's relatives lots and lots of things, always an SUV full each time I went out there. The first couple of times I expected that they would take good care of any particularly nice item but, man, did that expectation get dashed. Then I learned, if you give something, it's GONE.

Re: List Your Random Acts Of Kindness Here!
Some of you posting her are absolutely pervert and out of contact with reality and most certainly out of touch with the joy of giving as your hostility shows it and proves it.

Thank GOD for those who truely are humble and giving.

Thank GOD that there are people out there that still do have a heart and compassion and empathy and sympathy....

because so of you twits on this thread are some poor sorry ass examples of how people should be and display clearly your lack of humanity as you make your snide and sarcastic remarks.

Blessings a plenty for those of you that still have a heart, a soul, compassion, empathy and sympathy because only by the grace of GOD

goes YOU!

Some of you on this thread have a heart so filled with anger and hate. I feel so very sorry for your pathetic outlook on life.
