Black people still have all the "advantages" white people do, plus some. It's just that they are now SECOND in line for affirmative action rather than first.

You need minorities, but a hispanic will fill the quota as well as a black. It's tough having to compete for those affirmative action spots and not being most favored any more!

Just a hint of schadenfreude here, but really the non-latinos should get organized and push back in Cali. Since latinos always vote for the latino, you should never vote for the latino. That sort of thing.

But it is latinos and blacks in direct competition for the affirmative action slots. Whites can never get them and compete with the asians for the merit spots, so the competition between blacks and hispanics is most bitter.

Always give with a loving, pure heart..and nevermind the negative people...life's too short to worry about what others think about you genuinely wanting to help another in need. That girl will probably remember your kindness for the rest of her life no matter how small the gesture was.

Merry Christmas everyone. This is a nice thread. OP starts by bitching about some asshole and we get all spectrum of views regarding a small act of kindness. $2 - wow, somebody's 'working the room' and raking it in apparently. Others get into the racism, the blacks vs. the latinos and other racism. Apparently if a white gives to a white it's of no consequence and the race isn't mentioned, but if a black gives to a white or vice versa, that's remarkable and we have to note that.

If OP hadn't been chewed out, would he even post this? I doubt it. It doesn't sound like self-aggrandizement. I give to people at times, avoiding giving money directly, but not always. You have to use your discernment. You can tell if it's a scam. One of the things I use is to hear what they're asking for. Are they asking for money? Or are they asking for food. Hungry people ask for food. Ask me for food and if I can I'll get you some food.

If a giver expects a pat on the back for it, it's not giving.

Keep giving everyone. The MAN wants us to be unkind to each other - to be selfish. This is how we defeat the grasping monster that is trying to conquer the world. By being kind to each other.
