Isn't semi automatic MORE dangerous?
I don't get what the big deal is over 'fully automatic assault high capacity killin machine' rifles. If 2 men of equal skill were trying to kill as many innocent people as possible, the one with semi automatic fire is going to be more accurate in his shots by far compared to the guy using full auto and wasting all his ammo. Does this logic fly that far over peoples heads? Who REALLY uses full auto in civilian life for any purpose other than novelty and wasting ammo for fun? Do they even use full auto in the military?

Well, I know it's only been stated here one million time, and I guess that isn't enough for you. So here's one more: the overwhelming majority of American Citizens DO NOT OWN FULLY AUTOMATIC RIFLES.

I don't know any other languages, or I'd say the same thing in them. For now I'm just going to have to hope that you can read and comprehend English.

When a gang of Crips, Bloods, White Bikers, miscellaneous band of miscreants, etc. come after my family, I'd prefer a semi-automatic at my side.

That's just the long and the short of it.

Any laws that change, or seek to change that are really really bad laws in my book.

Re: Isn't semi automatic MORE dangerous?
most rifles issued by the military are not full auto. Most have a setting called burst, which fires 3 rounds with each trigger pull.

even guns that are fully automatic, like the m30, would overheat after a few hundred rounds. This is why the 50 calibre has replaceable barrels, because they get super-heated and swell shut.. I believe the m30 also has a removable barrel.

when I was in the army all of my shooting was done in semi-automatic mode for accuracy. I see no situation where the burst feature would be needed, other than to scare an enemy away.

that being said, no human can pull the trigger as quickly as a full auto functions..

in vietnam the m16's were all full auto and everyone used full auto. The army realized that the shoot to hit ratio was horrid, so they re-designed the rifle and put the burst mode on it.

you are correct, a trained gunner using semi-auto could have a higher shot-kill ratio than someone randomly spraying bullets and the army example proves this.

the biggest problem with full auto is kick-back. With each shot the barrel raises and the shots go higher. So the shooter is constantly trying to fight the gun, making him innaccurate. Semi-auto eliminates this and the shooter stays in control.
