If girlfriends\wives knew how much we don't say, they would realize the proverbial sandwich request is, at most, just mild amusement. We know it annoys you just enough but we don't want to actually make you mad. That's a dangerous situation that usually results in the coldest of shoulders and rarely ends with makeup\angry sex.

For example, when you're really emotional about something, we know we can't make jokes about how (more often than not) you're simply overreacting.

So, if a guy asks you for a sandwich, it means "I don't ask much... just make me a damn sammich and get naked".

You can ignore him but if you really want to pick a fight with a guy over that, while it may seem trivial, it will start some shit. You may have to just accept that you saying "no" to the sandwich would be like us saying "no" to you wanting an hour (or more...) to get ready when we go out.
