My kids are 26 (tomorrow- my Christmas baby!) and 29. I still do stockings and gifts and even Easter baskets at Easter for them. I've raised quite a few strays too- friends of my boys who were misplaced in life for one reason or another. Santa to me is a little slice of love. Its about giving and caring without expecting anything in return. And yes, the cookies are heaven.

Jesus Clause comes to my house. Dude is awesome. Has magic powers and stuff.

When we visited Santa two weeks ago, he told my 5 year old to make sure to leave carrots out for the reindeer.

So, as I'm typing, there is a plate with two chocolate chip cookies (damn good ones, we baked them yesterday for Santa), a glass of warm milk, and two massive carrots.

I'll eat the cookies, the carrots are going in the garbage (concealed on the bottom), and the milk is being dumped because I'll puke if I drink it.

I had so much joy in seeing my boys have such a happiness, joy, and anticipation--it's part of growing up, but I love it. I hope they'll carry it on when they have kids.

It's midnight! If we don't get to bed, no Santa, and that means no Cuisinart waiting for me in the morning!

I just ate the cookies, crumbling one of them all over the table and in the remaining milk. I thought I'd throw a little more on the boy and got out the carrot peeler and made a real mess. I figured I'd tell him Rudolph came in with Santa this time. Maybe i'll do some prints on the floor.
