Who else has no presents for their kids tomorrow?

I've done the best I could bu still I could not come up with the money for gifts. So they are not getting the play set / fort they wanted again this year.

We are all alive & healthy, but that's hard to explain to a five & a seven year old.

I dont really have to explain anything to you ,my income is less than 1k a month i pay council tax ,heating, mortgage ,i fell behind with the mortgage when my father passed away and chose to buy a £99 suit to show my respect at the funeral ,and the fact i live 250miles away from there ,so the petrol and the suit all added up, then the mortgage company started putting charges on ,then every other company started putting charges on ,so i ended up paying most of my income catching up with everything ,dont you dare go on about condoms you self righteous prick , i tried and tried and no i got no vices

£1k a month, 3 kids = £18k a year in benefits. I know, as Im the mug who pays 40% tax to give them to losers like you.

They have asked and while a handout would be cool, it is not what I'm after. I'll post more when I get to the end of this thread.

Ok I let this go on long enough. I kept this going because I saw so much good come from so many people here.

I did not mean that I had no presents, but I had no big presents like the ones on their wish lists.

I use to make really good money but now I don't. We became parents when my in-laws both died and their adopted son came to live with us. We bought a bigger house in a safer neighborhood. Five years later CPS called us & our family grew to five. I want to build them a cool fort because I can't afford one of the $1,000 ones. I however can build about anything from anything.

I work part time for minimum wage so I can get them on the bus and meet them at home again. When I tell a perspective employer that I can start tomorrow but I can't be in till 9, and have to leave by 3:30. They tell me they can't use me. These boys mean the world to us & we are just trying to save as much of there childhood as we can.

Yes we have nerff guns, puzzles, and games under the tree, but no bicycles, scooters, footballs, or a fort. We will read from the bible, open presents, make home made cookies, and drink hot coacoa tomorrow followed by a nice dinner.

Look, I'm not trying to get them cars, or jet ski's but this economy has tanked. The work force is flooded. Almost everyone has a college degree.

I figured there were many of you out there that feel the pinch & are saddened by not being able to give your kids at least one thing the asked for.

Btw I have not emailed or PM'ed anyone about this. I don't pay for cable, I only have a 15" tv since my five year old did a flip into it when he first moved in with us. I don't smoke and I only occationaly drink from a bottle or two I keep at the house. We don't eat out, and we never go to bars.

Hey, like the rest of you I eat a lot of ramen noodles & I save the flavor packet to have broth latter. I can stretch a dollar.

Part of being a good parent is explaining the realities of life. Christmas should be about Christ. Maybe you should be more involved with a local church.

fuck off you couldnt afford anything for your children, i had a mother who lived on disability all her life and every year she made sure she could provide for all her family while recieving little to none herself


so maybe stop spending money on the drugs and fucking alcohol u hood rat/white trash and learn how to manage money and not drug weights

Unless you are typing this from the library, you have at least some money. Kids need things to play with a lot more than you need to be on the Internet...

Why even sweat it? Xmas is just another one of those mind fuk national sales events.

Why fall for the manipulation from organized retailers to empty your wallet on Xmas..its stupid as hell to buy stuff for people just because some ridiculous fairytale about some ridiculous invisible man in the sky's birthday, that by the way didn't occur in the fictional book on DEC 25th anyway.

Conditioning your children from birth to "believe in ridiculous HS just because everyone else does" is setting them up for incredible failure in life.

NOBODY WAS BORN ON XMAS DAY, AND NOBODY WANTS YOU TO SPEND MONEY THAT YOU DON'T HAVE JUST TO CAVE IN TO THE PRESSURE TO "KEEP UP WITH THE JONE'S !

Enjoy the day with your family, eat a nice meal and watch some football, everything else is just an ignorant waste of time, money and emotion.
