The monster took the cross from the bad man and crumpled it like putty and flung it aside. Then the demon absorbed /ate/subsumed the bad man. Quoting: Mack My question is does that seem right, or even possible? Even though the man was crazy evil he shielded himself behind the Cross of Jesus so as to try and ward off a demon, and that means he is protected, right? Wasn't the guy a Nazi? I remember that film. i think it was Gabriel byrne. great film and hard to find. |

My copy wont though, its been watched too many times. I recommend the book its totally different and about a vampire with some very cool scenes. in answer to your question, it wasn't a cross, it was a talisman,( I'm drunk atm but I'm sure its actually the Hilt to a sword) that stopped he "demon" going beyond yge walls. The other guy was part of the creature. The "good" part. Its basically a story if duality, which starts with the nazis / German army. Please, read the book as well. Its like two stories for the price of one. thanks btw, now I'm gonna watch it tomorrow. big smiles. Out of this ugliness may come, Some day, so beautiful a flower, That men will wonder at that hour, Remembering smoke and flowerless slum, And ask-glimpsing the agony Of the slaves who wrestle to be free- 'But why were all the poets dumb?' -William Montgomerie So many gods, so many creeds, So many paths that wind and wind, While just the art of being kind Is all the sad world needs. -Ella Wheeler Wilcox |

That scene was in Fright Night followed by the vampire snarling "You have to have FAITH for this to work on me Mr, Vincent!" Without Faith a cross is just jewelry. .5. |

It is the faith of the person who uses them that gives them power. This is the typical underlying 'rule' for using talismans to block 'spirit' entities. Unfortunately the Keep (the Movie) was based off a book (poorly in many ways) thus a lot of the understory is lost, including that the talisman was for (it was not the cross of Jesus) and the relationship between the entity and the individual, which was important to know that relationship to 'get' why he was 'absorbed' by the entity. "My Dog, its full of fleas!" -David Bowwow “A paranoid is someone who knows a little of what's going on. A psychotic is a guy who's just found out what's going on.” - William S. Burroughs |
