No the aditional mass is not from brown dwarfs. Not trying to rain on your paraid but brown dwarfs give off radiation in the form of photons. We measure the energy output and then can determine its mass. The reason why dark matter exists (assuming thats what you were refering to in your post) is because its a form of matter that only interacts gravitationally. Therefor the only way we can only detect or observe dark matter is through gravity. At least thats the theory. I still think its assinine to invent something that can only be proved by the theory its proving! (im not a fan of dark matter hahaha)
