None of my kids thought of me, none of my nieces, nephews, hell, my own mother didn't get me anything. I got hem presents. But I got diddly. Worst. Christmas. Ever.

I stopped relying on other people to give me gifts way back. Mainly because they often got me something I didn't like or didn't want. So each year I always go and and get what I want for myself first. No resentment, no worry and I'm completely satisfied. Now I'm at an age where I really don't need or want anything. Go figure. That is other then a good massage. These aching muscles could do with some time in the sauna and rub down.

And just for the record - even though I gave my kids gifts they didn't get me anything either. It is a bit sad when they turn out like that but it's their problem not mine. I don't expect anything from them. You see. Christmas is about loving- not presents. Just hanging out with everyone is the best present ever.

I gave up my 20's and 30's to be a full time dad. I gave the best years of my life in a celibate attempt to create strong, successful, well adjusted, decent men.

I feel ya brother, but to be honest there's probably many many many children who don't get christmas every year of there life's so i mean meh.. bunch of useless junk we forget about anyway and replace with new shit.

How old are you? When you grow up you realize that the real joy of present giving at Christmas is the giving and not the receiving. The look of joy on your loved ones face when they see that they have gotten something they like. That's the best part.

My grown daughter is like that, she never get me or her handicapped brother any thing. She just text me and was mad because I didnt get my granddaughter a sins game, I got her a pair of betsy johnson boots. She said now I have to go out tonight and find a store open and find one, that is what she wanted me to buy her, then she wouldnt text me back. Is this ridiculous or am I crazy?
I guess this is what christmas is to the selfish
