So, by your reasoning, people become violent due to being around inanimate, metal objects.
Of course, one could look at South Dakota, which is highly armed, yet has very low violent crime.
But then one would have to be honest and look at the differences between the population of South Dakota and Louisiana.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30822048 Nope, but America is wrecked with crime and racial and ethnic tension, and of course an insane level of income inequality. Those issues are largely absent in places like SD and VT. Smart gun owners would try as make the US look like VT (ah socialist VT) then there'd be no push to regulate guns. Wherever there's crime in America, there's guns. And of course the FBI says that the majority of gun homicides are the outcome of arguments. In Europe, those arguements don't typically end up in shootings. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21130561 Yet the vast majority of Americans who own guns don't ever seem to wind up using them in any crimes. Your theory is that somehow, inanimate objects cause violence. Which is sort of crazy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30822048 Of course that's not my theory, but thanks for lying about it. You're theory is that if all guns were to magically disappear, 9k Americans would still be shot. Oh you mean that's NOT your theory? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21130561 My theory is lock up/deport violent criminals. A gun cannot cause a crime. Individuals who use a gun, knife or baseball bat in a violent way should not be in society. Those of us who have owned guns our entire lives and have never hurt anyone should be punished because some individuals choose to be violent. What Israelis or Europeans feel is irrelevant. If they don't want to own a gun, that is their choice. But some of us choose to own them, and that is our right as well.
