I grew up in a place where almost everyone on my street was armed.
There was no violence, or incident with guns.
Somehow we survived with all those guns around.
You're just missing the point.
Guns don't really cause crime, but where there is crime they make it worse.
On the other hand, when Israel stopped its troops from bringing home guns, its troop suicide rate fell by 40%.
So.
Crime and guns = murder and death and destruction.
Depression and guns = high suicide rate.
Sure, if you want to solve all of Americas wage inequality, sort out all its crime and racial tension, then guns are a nonissue.
Until then, America + Guns = a homicide rate higher than several African countries, all if Europe and most of Asia.
If you think that's fine, do nothing. That's what we've done for decades and its worked a treat; nothing's changed.
