Will the 7200rpm HDD (if I put it in) run cooler and run the battery down less, or more? I'm not sure, not really a computer genius I've just built a few computers and have a basic understanding of hardware that I got from the internet lol. The problem is not the problem, the problem is your attitude about the problem. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "May future generations look back on our work and say that these were men and women who, in a moment of great crisis, stood up to their politicians, the opinion-makers, and the establishment, and saved their country." - Dr. Ron Paul .......................................................................... Even if I put the 7200rpm HDD and WIN 7 OS, I will still come in $400 under the Mac Book Pro. Have a bigger screen, and use the same programs as I have now, but less battery life. Not bad I recon. |

It also won’t get as hot as the faster one. 5400 rpm drives have two advantages ... use less power and cheaper.....downside, slower. |

| SE7EN (OP) User ID: 30769075 12/25/2012 07:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The 7200rpm internal drive is NOT significantly faster than the stock 5400rpm when doing small RANDOM reads and writes. That implies that it won't give you much advantage for booting and normal operations. 7200 rpm drives are faster, but also are more battery intensive. |
