The Moon can be bright enough to read by. This really isn't anything new.

It's amazing what happens when you look up at the sky nightly.

"–4.00 Faintest objects observable during the day with naked eye when Sun is high"

Each grade of magnitude was considered twice the brightness of the following grade (a logarithmic scale)

Meaning something of -4 can be seen in the sky even with the Sun overhead, and an object of -12 magnitude (rounding down) is 256 times brighter. (Closer to 512, but I think you get my drift)

I apologize for believing you to be a rational human being. You were actually looking for someone to agree with your preconceived notions, even though they were grossly uneducated ones.

I thought you actually wanted to know about what you were seeing, but if you are willing to believe the moon is a holographic projection....uh well ok. Good luck with that one.

Not even sure what you're meaning by this. Plus the OP already stated it was "getting dawn" ala predawn light plus the moon in the sky at the same time, easy enough to be extremely bright out.

There's no mysticism or magic behind such a phenomenon. If it was really that absurd, billions of people would be flooding these boards.

You even described yourself as "lunatic fringes"... do you not see how that is dripping with irony that you won't take science itself over your own personal feelings?

I'm here to speak on behalf of rational people, since that is needed. You asked a question, I gave you a honest, reasonable answer, one you can research for yourself. It requires no magic, no spells or conspiracies. I actually gave you the tools to do your own critical thinking on the matter, instead of feeding you a line of BS(the Moon is a hologram? Come on...).

I'm here because of the following:

"Science literacy is a vaccine against the charlatans of the world that would exploit your ignorance."

You want to know who are shills? The doomsdayers. They tell you the world is going to end, unless you pay $59.99 for this book that tells you where the safe areas are and what you'll need to make it in the coming age.

Wheras I offer knowledge for free.

This site is like junk food. Tasty in it's own way, but hardly nutritious. Science, actual science that is. Which is far more opened minded, offers something nutritious for those neurons of yours. I'm just helping others get a balanced diet.

That and I sometimes crave the junk food. Same reason why if I'm in line I might read the tabloids. They're hilarious, absurd, and not based on reality.

Again, you can easily track, read, and do most daytime activities under the light of a full moon. Plus you had predawn light to work with. You are basing your observations on what you perceive to be weird, without researching the phenomenon at all yourself.

Ok, so looking at it right now from western France and it is quite a sight, crystal clear and very bright, and the sun has just gone down. Also looks fabulous because there is a planet (I guess it is either Jupiter or Saturn) of to the right hand side looking east from where we are.
