Actually I have never wanted an AR. I am a seasoned AK guy and bought mine years ago. Now what I see is the hypocrisy of people and businesses that complain about always get shafted by this government tax or so and so screwed me purposely on this deal . Things here in America are far from the SHTF scenerios imagined on this site , yet we see people binge buying for the sole purpose of re-selling at a huge markup to the guy who can least afford it there are literally 1,000s of ar's and the like being resold right now at apocalyptic here we come prices. In fact in many gun stores they have restricted purchasers to one per day. Mags included. I am not saying we should have price controls or anything like that . My point is this- gun owners as a whole are acting like douches to their fellow countryman and the sad part it is the people, that know little to nothing about the gun world ,that are getting butt raped by their fellow man.
Thank The Lord that our forefathers didn't act this way at the beginning of the rebellion our they would have had the bulk of our troops using sticks , stones and harsh words to fight the British , just Because some shmucks decided that profit was greater than freedom. Go liberty, or is it go profits!?

the only case lots of bulk .223 are the steel cased tula crap (or the wolf) I think you paid waaaaay too much steel case used to go gor .20/rd.

Steel cased ammo WILL accelerate wear and tear on your chamber and especially the extractor. 2000 rds of steel will total your extractor- that's if you can shoot that many before the cases start getting stuck real bad in the chamber)

damn dude

you just got me worried so I went to open the case

lol

it's brass

these are made in serbia so I was worried

 Quoting: ^TrInItY^

PRVI Partisan is your mfr.

The bullets are not match-quality, but they'll be very effective with their weight. Not really up to even practice round quality for the Service Rifle competitors, but that ain't you, is it?

The brass is boxer primed, so is reloadable.

The ammo is Much Better than 55gr or 62 grain for all-around use in self-defense purposes.

You did okay on the price. The heavy bullet is worth some extra money.

All .223 brass (not steel) cases are reloadable.
Keep your brass empties.

Might really want to drop some bucks on a handloading outfit... Dillon 550b plus a scale, dies for the ctgs you shoot most, primers, powder and bullets.

Nosler 77gr bthp, real match quality bullets, go for about $170 per thousand. Hornady 75gr bthp match go for about $90 per 600; or they did some weeks back...

Might still find Lake City & WCC brass that is once-fired for about $100 per 1500pcs. Pay another $40 per 1000 primers and $120 for a 5lb jug of RL15 and you could do 1000rds and have a pound of powder left over...

Making your own ammo with quality components is the Real Ticket, but takes some time and attentiveness. Once a Dillon is setup, can make about 250rds per hour; match quality. Doing .45acp I get more like 325 per hour; just crank the handle and feed new ctgs..

Need one other tool to process once-fire military brass since the primers are crimped-into the pocket. The Dillon 600 primer pocket swage is a very fine tool that enables very fast brass handling. Only have to swage the primer pockets the first time the case is reloaded... Cost about $100 or did.

It should hit you about now that EVERYTHING that aids your self-sufficiency and ability to be self-reliant is in short supply. Best acquire what you can while it is available.

A few bullet molds and 50 or 100 lbs of wheelweights would also be a resource you might consider for casting your own bullets... They shoot very precisely at close range and use much less powder...

Good luck to all...

Most of what I have seen selling on Gun Broker are auctions that start at a penny and are bid up by the buyers.

Hard to call that profiting or gouging.

I saw a Colt AR15 sell for 3250 after 61 bids.

if people are willing to pay that, then the saying "A fool and his money are soon parted" applies.

Nobody is forcing people to over pay.

And it won't do them any good to have the guns when there is hardly any ammo in stock.

Re: Gun owners trying to make a huge profit off other gun buyers!!!
Here's the real shit storm of it. The dumb asses have emptied the shelves at a time when the manufacturers are slowing production, waiting to see what the new rules will be. No AR maker is going to keep production at full speed ahead if the guns they make may not be sellable due to new laws. What would they do with 2000 partially manufactured AR's? So they have actually slowed manufacturing so they don't lose their asses if these guns are outlawed again.

what this means is that there is no inventory to re-supply those empty shelves! In other words' now the gun stores are cleaned out and can't get new inventory to re-fill their shelves. Right now they're looking at a wad of cash and no inventory and are being told 30-90 days to get new guns.. Guess how many gun shops will go out of business over the next 30-90 days?

Ruger had already stopped taking new orders because they couldn't keep up with demand, now it will take years for them to catch up. But with the prospect of losing millions in partially assembled and now illegal AR's they are in no hurry to boost production.

the gunnies screwed themselves by 1) buying all inventory in the US and hoarding it, and 2) making themselves look like the lunatics the left claims they are.

my opinion may be biased because I was told in november that I would be receiving a year end bonus and my plan was to buy my first AR with the money.. Now I can't because they're too expensive and there are now no magazines or bullets either. So society screwed me.

Re: Gun owners trying to make a huge profit off other gun buyers!!!
So has anyone else noticed, that private gun sellers are trying to butt rape their fellow gun buyers by asking 3-5 times the actual value of any gun that maybe even considered tactical .
For instance, on a very popular gun trading site AR-15s that were selling at $600 last week now are being privately offered at $2,000 to start. Cheap Ak-47s that go for $350-$400 are selling at above the $950 range .
And one stooge even has posted a box of 250 pmags that normally sell for around $12-15 a piece for $1,000,000 for the case and says he won't split the case up lmao- seriously people we are screwing ourselves more than this administration could ever do.
Hint people, don't pay the inflated prices and let these a--holes choke on their weapons and mags. Ar's are nice, but not that friggin nice.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26745501

It's not really your fault, but you know NOTHING about running a business, cash flow, inventory control, and what it means to have several employee's but no idea if you will be able to actually buy replacement inventory.

What is occurring now, across the entire nation, is PANIC BUYING. The average guy automatically thinks this must be great for the gun store owners, but it is NOT.

Business plans are not set up for surviving what may be a prolonged 'stop work' order from the very manufacturer's of weapons themselves.

What the hell do you think is happening at the 30 round magazine manufacturing plant right now?

Do you think that they are tripling their material orders to keep up with demand? Hell no, they are wondering if the product they are making, will be outlawed come January 2013.

Pretty much everything at thearmory.com is sold out but not listed as sold out. I bought a case of 7.62x54 for my bolt rifles a couple weeks back and they had plenty, but I just checked a couple days ago and now all out. I started checking all the rifle calibers and nothing was in stock.

As for steel case .223, I have cases of it and am not afraid at all to run it through my AR or Mini. Only thing about it is it shoots a couple MOA more than the good stuff and is dirty.

Thanks for the pin. My point is not supply and demand I get that 100%. My problem is the point fluctuation has taken most buyers out of the market. I know that supplies have been limited for sometime. But does charging a premium on weapons that a lot of people bought in multiples expressly to run up the price not piss you off ?
If a gas station was hitting your wallet for 3 times the going rate per gallon say, $15 dollars we would have gas station clerks hanging off every tree in sight. But if its guns , their parts or ammo then it's ok too screw your neighbor ?! These people will be the same ones who will be turning in names to collect " reward" money for people who own illegal weapons. That they sold to them at astronomical prices.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26745501

If the gas station owner HAD fuel and I needed it I would gladly pay $15 gallon. It beats no fuel and a wallet full of cash while I sit in my cold dark house with a non running generator, or a 2 ton weight holding the driveway down.

That is the marketplace at work my friend, supply and demand and the prices determine the supply that will come on line. Will I spend my time and effort to prototype a receiver if the market is saturated and they are selling for $75 each? Hell No. How about if there is a shortage and they are selling for $200, That gets me interested.
