There is no excuse. You don't need more than six gallons for city transportation, any more than that has no purpose but mass murder. If you need to travel further you should call in the public transportation. It doesn't matter if it takes four more hours to get there then it would with your murder-sized gas tank, we can't just allow freedom and liberty and say dashes to the consequences. Our children deserve a world where they don't have to be afraid to go to school because they might end up flatter than a top 40 singer without autotune.

Cars are already heavily regulated and controlled.

They have gas tank size limits for safety
They have structural requirements.
They have limits on the power they output, and their maximum speed.
These 3 points are a drop in the bucket compared to the regulations and guidelines in place
The person operating the vehicle must be trained and pass a set of tests.
Failure to comply with regulations may result in forfeiture of the persons right to operate the vehicle, or the vehicle itself.
An army of police and civil servants patrol and enforce the litany of rules and regulations you must follow to operate the vehicle.

Are you REALLY trying to compare vehicles to gun control?
REALLY? Because, in fact, guns have a looooooong road to go before they even come close to the regulations and rules to driving a vehicle.
