Looking for advice on water filtraton systems

Look at the Katadyn Combi. It can beused in the home with an attachment for the faucet or as a backpacking filter. It will filter up to 13000 gallons with out changing the filter.

Bu I don't think this filters out fluoride.

Add a fluoride filter element to a Berkey. Problem solved. If you need more unfluoridated water than a Berkey provides, prepare to spend big $$$$$$$$$$$.

I have a Vitasulus 750 whole house filter with a pre-filter, and may add a Nuvo Manor for softening when/if the price drops. The Vitasulus is awesome. NO CHLORAMINES !!!

Thanks, I'm looking at these now. Every time I try to find reviews about these, I either see wonderful reviews or terrible ones. Why the split?

After doing much research on the same as you, I finally came to the conclusion that most stuff out there is not well made and to expensive such as berkey (as you said many bad reviews). My final conclusion was to filter the whole house, you can find a descent system on eBay anywhere from $300 to $500. Best thing is that you do you're own filter refilling no need to buy new ones.
