I felt the same way some years back. I turned to drugs and alcohol for relief. That worked for about 5 years. Then it made things a LOT worse. Now, I am eating raw foods and supplementing with raw protein, exercising, taking things that naturally boost my testosterone and sex life. Now, I feel fucking great and more alive than ever. I suggest you get with the fucking program, son. |

How do I break free from these materialistic & hedonistic reality we are imprisoned in? Better to find something to run "to" than something to run "from." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25613380 *biochemicals If you're depressed, something in your life is out of whack, it's as simple as that. You need to work on what it might be by researching, analyzing, trying different things, until you find and fix whatever it is. Something might work for awhile, then if it stops working, you need to do more research. Human beings are not supposed to be walking around depressed. Sad sometimes, yes, griefstricken at points, yes. Perpetual depression? Absolutely not. Vitamin deficiency to mind contol, look for the cause. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 25613380 12/25/2012 04:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You need to view depression as a chemical imbalance that needs to be fixed, with more sleep, better nutrition, more sunshine, there's all kinds of info to check into. You should not define yourself, your personality, who you are, what your life is, by this chemical imbalance. That's equivalent to defining yourself as a broken leg if you get hurt in an accident. You don't sit around defining your whole being as a broken leg, you do whatever's necessary to fix the leg. If you were poisoned by some chemicals that affected your ability to think, if you knew this was the side-effect, ou wouldn't be defining yourself by the results of how your brain wasn't working right, you would be addressing the poisoning. Something is poisoning your brain, the result is this sensation of depression. It could be some emotional baggage you haven't been able to deal with, it could be you don't understand you can't live on Ring Dings and cola. This is an opportunity to educate yourself on how to take care of yourself. You will get real results showing if you're going in the right or wrong direction as you teach yourself. |

But do also keep in mind that not everything material is bad. As for example with food: take some time the next time you eat something. Is it healthy? How do you eat your food; do you stuff it into yourself or do you take some time eating it and are thankful that you even have some? When you taste the food, try to explorer the full process of eating, from putting something onto your fork to chewing to swallowing and to digesting. Try to feel a connection- you are what you eat. Perhaps even try to learn to become aware of the connection between your body (the material) and your mind, the way sensations effect your consciousness. I hope this helps =) |
