Is there a specific time-span that this pole shift will happen??

I find it interesting that Nasa says it takes roughly 2 to 3 thousand years to recover from the magnetic field after a magnetic pole reversal and the interstellar cloud/local fluff/photon belt that we are supposably in will take 3000 years to pass through it.
