I think large weapins should be banned. A private citizen has no reason to own an Ak47 or a bunch of granades.

Call me crazy, but I think that we should do what Israel does. They racially profile at airports (which is a necessary evil, in my opinion), and they require all people to go through criminal checks and psychological exams before buying a weapon.

Israel has never had one of its own citizens shoot up a school of children.

Many will cite that the 2nd Amendment is meant as a way for the people to protect against a tyrranical government (which is true), but how does banning poeerful weapons impede on this? I am sure millions of Americans armed with simple pistols is sufficient to deter any would-be tyrant.

We should at least have mandatory psych evaluations of gun customers. It may be technically unconstitutional, but so are myriad of other things being done today. At least such a policy would help weed out a lot of the psycho bastards. (And if that infringes upon the right of the crazies and the psychopaths to own a firearm, then come up with a better solution.)

And if you disagree witb me, then tell me why I cannot use the 2nd Amendment to justify owning a nuclear arm, or a flame thrower.
