OK lets get real here. Nobody has actually laughed at the Big Bang Theory on TV right?

I enjoy the show too.

Favorite episode: Sheldon calculates that he will likely die just before the development of mind uploading/immortality. So he locks himself in his bedroom and maintains contact with the outside world through a robot as to minimize the chance the he will die before being uploaded.

Reminded me of Surrogates, and I enjoyed knowing I wasnt the only one concerned with this. My plan: save 80K so that I can be cryogenically preserved in case I don't make it long enough to be uploaded.

The show simultaneously sucks chipmunks through tailpipes and is in fact the best comedy on the air right now. The other two biggies, modern family and 2.5 men are so bad and degenerate that I can't stand to have any of that drivel hit my eyeballs even whilst channel flipping to some other destination.

The only reason to watch modern family would be the attractive Latina. That get's old after about 15 seconds. Modern sitcoms are so bad, so programmed by the elite and so degenerate that they should actually be outlawed or used as a tool to demoralize our enemies.

I haven't seen a sitcom worth watching since the days of family ties, and even that could get tedious at times.

Wow, talk alot about numbers to make it sound like some sophisticated platform for a punchline.

Then the big zinger! A reference to Chuck Norris. Boy, Chuck Norris jokes didnt get old about a decade ago and were never really funny in the first place.

Tall guy should have made a reference to Rick Rolling too. That woulda been too much for the crowd though and they probably would have passed away from laughing so hard.

Some might say it is a "Smart" comedy. Meaning you need to be smart to "Get it".

And if you don't get it, you aren't that smart.

I remember one scene, Sheldon and Leonard are playing a game of chess on one of those 3-D Star-Trek type Chess boards. In it, Leonard hesitates on his move for a while, then finally moves. Sheldon moves quickly, calls "Checkmate". And the joke is then he says "It must be humbling to suck on so many different levels." Then points to the board at different levels.

An instant classic. Watch for yourself.

In reality, I've gotten a few laughs out of it. Nowhere enough to be considered funny. This coming from someone who is very interested in quantum physics. Sadly there really aren't many things on American television that are funny. I kind of like Portlandia, curb your enthusiasm was good. Not too many good writers left working in television at all.

Without the laugh track, this could easily just be a really boring after school special.

OP, it seems like there is more to it then you just disliking it. There is a lot of emotion in your hatred.

I think, "how I met your mother" is terrible, but I would never drone on about how much I think it sucks.

I find big bang funny. I have actually laughed out loud many times watching it.

Sure its cliché.........that's what most comedy is based on.

Its a nerd parody... I remember how popular friends was, but I could never figure out why and still don't.

Been thinking about it. I agree, that show it terrible.
No matter how many ten dollar words they shove into sheldon's mouth in some century long ramble about nothingness, the show doesn't deliver on a comedy basis. I can't recall a single memorable plot from a single episode, and my fiancee makes me watch this drivel.
The idea of watching roseanne cast members reunite in some awkward one upsmanship, is almost embarrassing. I'm almost certain that every episode revolves around the same plotline of a nerd trying to get with a girl of average intelligence. The hilarity that ensues is not priceless. Haha. There aren't that many alternatives. As I said before, the shows I thought were funny were canceled. I actually don't remember laughing out loud to anything seriously in a whole lot of fucking years.. sad. Perhaps I'm just bored with jokes. Not sure. Big bang theory is a joke unto itself though, for sure.

But what made me feel really in tune with those guy was that they sorta called a coffee shop there home away from home. What hip 20 something doesn't dream of being a regular at the coffee shop? Cmon guys, we are getting to be young adults in our 20's, we can handle some really string forms of coffee, right?? And we can tell jokes about dating while we drink our adult drinks too! He puts little fuckin gay "Vanity Cards" at the end of the credits...
