IMPORTANT Request

What a great idea.The love coming out of GLP now is wonderful.

You know, I also think one of the best things any of us can do for others is to stop judging them.

Everyday we judge others negatively on the flimsiest of appearances or knowledge. Especially those who are more vulnerable, 'less important'. Then we treat them accordingly, dismissively, unkindly, excluding them.

Psychopaths aside, inside every human being there's a heart capable of profoundest love and a history of hurts from callous people who've judged them and taken advantage of them.

Listening to people's hearts is a wonderful gift - our compassion is the greatest gift we can give.

It's much harder than doing something for others. It's a way of being, makes you see the world and other people completely differently.

Seriously, I believe that a massive renewal of compassion is the only way humanity is going to survive what's coming. It's the only thing we have to fight the psychopaths in power and it's far more powerful than any amount of money or military might.

their kindness for the day.
I agree with a few posters that one should not
have to be paid for a deed of the heart...but
a little incentive to be thinking about others now
and then doesn't hurt. Besides, it gives me a chance
to do a good thing! :-)

Lets keep this post visible so that whoever wants
to participate in the "challenge" can do so...although
I do hope the warm spirit keeps on gathering momentum
on its own.
We CAN be loving and turn this sad old world around.

What's to stop someone from simply claiming 'good deeds'?

Also, aren't all these good deeds just for selfish reasons?
Remember there's no such thing as a selfless act.

Watch I'll be banned now...again....

It's entirely possible that people may do stuff for
selfish reasons or make up stories but at least it
gets them thinking about others rather than
just themselves or their own situations.

Already done I'm babysitting for a friend who's babysitter is out today, at no charge none the less!!!!!

I love doing things like this. If I was rich, I'd be handing
it out all day every day. When people's needs are met,
then they can focus on making this tired old planet
a better place.

The last good deed I did, was jumped this mother and *hot* daughter's car on the 23rd when they were trying to get home from christmas shopping. If I see someone in need, I lay a helpful hand, but it's hard to go out of your way to find people that need help.

Me, I do not have a lot of extra to offer myself. But today, I took the guys from the rooming house down the street who always go tot he church and soup kitchen to eat, to the local grocery store and we shopped and filed the fridge with yummy food for a week and some great snacks and drink. Only spent $189.47 but they said they got everything they wanted and were very happy.


I was inspired by all the good being done on GLP, posted not for rewards and accolades for my good dead, but to inspire another so we can keep it going this holiday season.

I can't do this now, but I used to put a few dollars in books at the bookstore. A nice surprise for someone.

I totally agree! my happiness stems from seeing others happy, I know I have my place in this world even if I have yet to find it and that keeps me going... Not everyone does, being able to bring joy to someone else is something magical I go day in day out making sure people dont feel like there getting the raw end of the deal, even if it means giving something up.

We've been this for a couple years. I requested that each family member do at least one random kind thing a week. Then while at the dinner table we share stories. It is so amazing to watch the children's faces when they tell their tale. After a while it become normal to be nice, to offer help and assistance or even a smile.

Thanks for recognizing the generous people here on GLP, Stand. I, myself, am a christian, and don't believe in making my generosity or good deeds public. I will definitely take on your challenge, however, when I give, I do it in private, and I prefer to receive my reward through Him. Kudos to Trinity, Brief, and you for recognizing the goodness in all!

I feel the same and it is NOT me who is good
but the great creator of us all. I'm just an instrument
and if I can help, I do. Being able to do something to
make a difference is all I need. :-)
