Epic Beard Guy User ID: 26240425 United States 12/26/2012 02:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Over the past twelve hours or more, I have Quoting: Stand! seen the "milk of human kindness" run over on GLP and it warms my heart. So, let's take it a step further. I challenge every one of you to do one kindness (or more) for someone every day for one week..online or offline, doesn't matter...then post it on this thread. At the end of one week, whoever has done the most and reported it here gets a free months membership on GLP courtesy of yours truly. Sure, people could make stuff up just for the membership, BUT at least it gets folks thinking of ways TO be kind. So, whaddya say? Who's up for it? I saw a liberal suffering. I couldn't bear it. So I put him out of his misery. It felt great! That gets your one step closer to the award! Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. I have also smoked three blunts of my weed with other people who are less fortunate. I have attempted to wake people up with a thread and some several posts. IMAGINE IF EVERYONE DID 5 KIND THINGS A DAY EVERYDAY :OOOOOOOOO |

He said he didn't, so I took the time and sat down next to him and told him all about it...just give my upgrade to someone else please :) I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. an american mom User ID: 30753403 United States 12/26/2012 08:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What a great idea. The love coming out of GLP now is wonderful. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19198791 You know, I also think one of the best things any of us can do for others is to stop judging them. Everyday we judge others negatively on the flimsiest of appearances or knowledge. Especially those who are more vulnerable, 'less important'. Then we treat them accordingly, dismissively, unkindly, excluding them. Psychopaths aside, inside every human being there's a heart capable of profoundest love and a history of hurts from callous people who've judged them and taken advantage of them. Listening to people's hearts is a wonderful gift - our compassion is the greatest gift we can give. It's much harder than doing something for others. It's a way of being, makes you see the world and other people completely differently. Seriously, I believe that a massive renewal of compassion is the only way humanity is going to survive what's coming. It's the only thing we have to fight the psychopaths in power and it's far more powerful than any amount of money or military might. [link to charterforcompassion.org] Blessings to all. |

But today, I took the guys from the rooming house down the street who always go tot he church and soup kitchen to eat, to the local grocery store and we shopped and filed the fridge with yummy food for a week and some great snacks and drink. Only spent $189.47 but they said they got everything they wanted and were very happy. Quoting: Weltsmertz I was inspired by all the good being done on GLP, posted not for rewards and accolades for my good dead, but to inspire another so we can keep it going this holiday season. God will bless you...this is awesome |

Sure, people could make stuff up just for the membership, BUT at least it gets folks thinking of ways TO be kind. So, whaddya say? Who's up for it? This is very kind. I am a giver and a natural for caring for human kind....some will say I give too much but it's what I enjoy and if I give more than some think I should, well it's my business and I do okay now and I know what it is like to have nothing. It's been a part of life. My father died when I was 3 and my mother had 9 children. One man came into her life and one man went out. He had a massive heart attack when she was only 37 and she never dated again. My father was the only one for her. She raised all of us children on her own and we were pretty poor. Funny thing is, it never bothered us. We planted a vegtable garden every year and it served us through the winter, we had chickens that provided our meat and eggs. We had a good size farm house that she rented from the Mayor and his wife. They helped her and were very good people. My mother cleaned their home as others for a living. I suspect this is why I am so giving to the less fortunate because I know what it feels like to barely get by. I choose not to tell my stories of who I help and most of the time it is random. A homeless man on the corner, a woman counting the food in her cart before going to the checkout lines. I do not look or care to have recognition. I feel it is something we should all do for one another and should I ever find myself in the position that I may need help, I know there are many good hearted and generous people in this world that would do the same for me. So there...that's pretty much it. |

Corn Dog User ID: 31011800 United States 12/28/2012 09:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was in Goodwill once and I started chatting with an elderly lady. As we parted ways, she thanked me for talking to her. Let me repeat, she thanked me for talking to her. It broke my heart, but it made me realize how lonely some people really are. My local Wal-mart has an elderly man who comes in a couple times a week for a few hours and rides around in a cart seeking human interaction. The store and employees all are together on helping this man combat his loneliness, no purchase necessary. *** Thank you for the up-grade. I tried to send you a proper thank you but got the restrict screen. YOUR kindness was sincerely appreciated. |

Nicolemare User ID: 25066813 United States 12/28/2012 12:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can't do this now, but I used to put a few dollars in books at the bookstore. A nice surprise for someone. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30489324 Ha, someone was so kind & left me $100 in a public dryer that I was using at the local laundry mat one time... I lived a short walking distance away so I would usually leave my clothes unattended in between cycles to get stuff done at home. After I came back to fold my clothes after they dried, to my grateful surprise, the $100 was mixed in with my laundry when I was pulling it out to finish it up! :) There was NOBODY in the laundry mat at that time and matter a fact it was about 15 mins. to closing time and the store attendant who comes to open and close the mat up, also arrived after me. I had asked him if he ever found ALOT of money before in any of the machines? He had said, "no more then a $10 bill! " I couldnt beieve it cuz at the time I was in desperate need of that money to survive! Just Yesterday in a recently posted thread, I offered to help out anyone in need of toddler baby or girls items such as clothes and toys, in the Chicagoland area, and even offered to deliver since some people dont have means of transportation. Thread: Helping out needy families with gently used clothing and toys. Do you need help or can you offer help? ~"For the total development of the human being, solitude as a means of cultivating sensitivity becomes a necessity. One has to know what it means to be alone, what it is to meditate, what it is to die; and the implications of solitude, of meditation, of death, can be known only by seeking them out. These implications cannot be taught, they must be learned." - Krishnamurti ~ |

Gave some kids money at a school function when they didn't have enough to buy a snack. Took a box of household items to my sister who is a single parent. Gave a present to my niece.. usually do not give gifts after they turn 18 due to financial reasons. Still working on the last 4 good deeds. |
