Why would Youtube apparently start to give us fewer search filter choices?

yeah i miss this feature, too.

but you can choose "this week" or similar and add "&search_sort=video_date_uploaded" into the webpage address.
so it will be sorted by date again.

Re: Why did Youtube recently stop allowing "Most Recent" as one of its search filters?
If I wanted to find out the most recent video out there on a specific topic I could hit the "most recent" filter and could get a video, say, only 10 minutes old. Now I am forced to pick 'day'. Even that is out of order. It will give videos not in any order over the past 24 hours. Bottom line: What exactly is the purpose of less choice????

Re: Why did Youtube recently stop allowing "Most Recent" as one of its search filters?
They took all the most useful seach filters away.

Not surprising.

Every week YOUTUBE stick another nail in their pown coffin via stupid 'upgrades' and 'modifications'.

Seriously - as youtube user and uploader I am amazed that no one has come up with something better yet.

I know many many users and uploaders are totally ovr youtube at the moment.

I look forward to youtubes competion finally appearing, and I for one will welcome my new overlords (- until they start taking the piss too a few years down the line)

pus is has a new tch that suggests more and more videos to you (based on your viwing habits) in the related videos section.

SO now the related video section mostly is not the related video section. It is the googlebot personal suggestion section.

Seriosly - every 'improvment' they make fucks youtube deeper and deeper into the grave.

I just pray 3013 is the year a viable popular alternative appears.

I'll move my channel over to somewhere new in a jiffy, as will pretty much every other user.

In fact many users have just stopped doing vids altogether - even without somewhere better to go.

They have to hinder our real~time video footage, or their plans will never be believed by everyone and the holes will go viral.

Re: Why did Youtube recently stop allowing "Most Recent" as one of its search filters?
Hmm, check at the bottom what your "content location" is. I hadn't noticed this feature missing yestersday, but I cleared cookies before going to bed last night so today my language and location settings were set to the new youtube local default, and now I couldn't see sort by relevance, upload date, rating, or view count. I then changed my content location to global again and of course language to US English and now I can use those filters again. Google really only makes youtube dumber and that place will surly die from competition at some point.

Their biggest issue atm. moment is how they throttle traffic making it next to impossible to download hd videos from anyone except those willing to pay youtube for a speed boost. Sure a popular video gets boosted too to keep up with demand, but it's a totally random cloud of frustration that hangs over users.

Whenever I have a throttling issue I double check with a HD video from a big corp or something I know gets a boost, and always get to see a 1080p video download like a rocket there, while on the other tab the bar hasn't moved an inch as it is been held back by youtube's stupid functions.

When confronted with the throttle issue youtube, if they respond, are likely to claim the bottle neck is with your ISP, which is of course false as then there wouldn't be a measurable difference between any of my downloads. Also it's not like my ISP goes in and filters speed by content, this place me a communist state in some eyes, but this isn't China after all.

All the old filters have been back for about a week. Over on the far right.

Youtube was best about 4 years ago. Google keeps shooting itself with these upgrades.
